Avoid At All Costs

Arugula on thin pizza is heaven. Absolute heaven!

I have had a lot of pizza in my time, but still my fave is MN style. Thin crust, cheese from wall to wall, slightly spiced sauce, cut in squares. Nothing better!
The only place for arugula is in salads and it doesn’t even belong in salads. I’m not a rabbit. Veggies have no business on a pizza. Jk 😂

Omg! Fat Slice! That’s it. Yes it was all I could afford too except taco trucks before they went all trendy. I lived in Berkeley for a year to try to find myself. I wasn’t there so I went home, but it was an amazing experience. Thanks for that walk down memory lane.

Yeah - I remember Fat Slice well. It was my preferred place even though Blondie's was about the same price. I just liked the vibe including all the classic psychedelic concert posters. But I remember when it was $1.25 for pepperoni or $1 for a veggie. Wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't a grease pit and I actually like it. Eventually it got rather expensive.

I remember seeing a car that had a license plate that might have been the owner. It was something like "FAT SLCE". It was a late 80s Mercedes-Benz 500SL. I guess cheap pizza made enough money for that.

How about this weird thing - Rhode Island Bakery Pizza:

It's basically just bread with tomato paste on it. It may be known as "red strips" too. I certainly found it odd when I was visiting family up there (I was born there).

Wow that reminds me of a bakery when I was a kid - that was exactly what they sold as pizza. It was ALWAYS what my parents got for us when they were going out and we had a babysitter. This and Coca-Cola. Cheese and other toppings were optional - AND IT WAS DELICIOUS

Was that in or near Rhode Island? I've never seen it anywhere else.

ROFLMAO- that

Focaccia usually will have onions, olives and other things on it too though not just sauce.

There are certainly varieties though. I know in Italy they'll often improvise with whatever they have.
