Avis vs Budget

So, on UT, Avis is about $7 more than Budget. Any advantage to booking Avis over Budget at MCO? Do they have separate counters?
In the past I have always booked Hertz or Alamo and skipped the counter. Since this is through UT I don't think I can skip the counter,

They are essentially the same company, so no real advantage of one over the other. When I booked through UT and brought the reservation up through my Budget FastBreak account, it did allow me to check-in online. I wasn’t able to complete it because it wouldn’t take any credit card I had. When I went to the counter (short wait), the agent said I could’ve gone directly to the garage kiosk and they would’ve added my CC.

Does Avis let you pick your own car like Alamo at MCO? I love picking our own car at Alamo but can get a better price with Avis through UT. I promised my hubby he wouldn’t have to wait at a car rental counter ever again. . Anyone able to do that recently?

Avis assigns cars. I’ve read that some have been able to get a different car if the one assigned to them had a problem.

I have used Budget multiple times from UT at MCO and always have been able to link it to my account on the app with the confirmation number and have used fastbreak all 3 times. Technically Avis is supposed to be the newer nicer cars but it seems like for the most part they are all apart of the same bunch. The counters are separate in the parking ramp but right near each other. I don't know if any terms are different at all or anything. But all 3 rentals I had in the last year had under 3000 miles. My January 2021 car had 200 miles. All have been new and nice, with only the most recent having a little smoke smell from a previous renter that seemed to sit in the air vent and only when first starting up the car, once air was moving around it was unnoticeable.
