Avis Vs. Alamo

When we travel to WDW we rent a car for our first day. We are DVC members and use the cae to stock up on groceries ect. Usually use Avis as we can drop the car at the Hilton near DTD.

We have an Avis res. for our trip this Nov/Dec. Rate of $48 (full size)with no drop off fee.

Received the Disney Visa card news letter with a cupon for Alamo. Called Alamo to see if there was a better rate. Rate was $39 for a mid size with a $30 drop off fee if we wanted to drop off at teh Dolphin. Alamo rep also said we would have to drop off by 4:00PM as the desk closed at that time. Avis can be dropped off by leaving the keys ect. with the Bell Service folks. Plus I think their dest is open until 9:00 PM.

Silly me to think Alamo would have a better rate and be more accommodating with the drop off.

We will be staying with Avis.

Someone gave you some really bad info.

I ran a ressie for one day dropping it off at the car care center, using a BJ's code. and this is what I got. NO drop off fee. Try doing this online rather than calling and getting bad info.

Gail OP wanted to drop off the Alamo car at the Dolphin, hence the drop off fee and the 4:00p deadline. Agreed OP might get a better deal if willing to drop off at the car care center.

I wonder if that was even suggested to the OP. The car care center is no biggie since they will bring him back to his resort.
