... in the you-know-what! I booked a GREAT rate for Spring Break back in December. I am picking up from a local location in Clearwater and dropping off at the Tampa airport. I got $264 for two full weeks . My DH has some free National car rental days so we can get to the Clearwater location with no problem ($6 in taxes and a fill-up with receipt to prove that we put gas in the car so maybe an extra $4-8 more depending on how the previous person filled the tank). I wanted to add my Avis Wizard Number to the reservation to make things go more smoothly for both me and the agent at the location so all my information will automatically be pulled into the reservation. Win-win, right? Nope. No can do. The Wizard "Preferred Service" is a "discount" and I can't apply two discounts. Idiots. I was just trying to make things easier. NEWSFLASH Avis! Other rental car companies allow you to add your frequent renter number to a reservation with another discount.

It may try to add an additional AWD number, but you should be able to call and get the agent to manually add the number, so the rental is credited to your account. Worst case, you can present your card to the agent and they will add it.

It is unlikely you'll be able to avoid the counter at a local rental place, anyway.

I called and neither the agent or her supervisor could manually do it. It's not a big deals since I am going to be at a local location and will have to go to the counter, but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

ETA: Oh ... they gladly offered to but my Wizard Number in to get my "benefits" but I would lose my rate and it would quadruple. Um ... no thanks.
