Just wanted to let everyone know that I saved another $110 off my mini-van rental for 10 days going through the Sears/Avis link at mousesavers!!! I already had a great discount but now with this link its under $400 & unlimited milage.

that is amazing! We are looking at renting a van to drive Nebraska to/from Florida this summer. We are going on Disney cruise so don't know if we rent the van the "whole" time including while we are at sea and it is parked, or if we rent it one-way there (probably will take us 3-4 days) & turn it in, then rent it one-way back 7 days later after the cruise for another 3-4 day trip home. Do you have any advice for us as we have NEVER rented a car, much less done something like this! thanks so much!

I think you would do best to rent the van the entire time. Normally on one-way rentals you get charged the daily rate plus a drop off charge. With some companies the drop off charge is calculated by the mile (ie. 20 cents a mile) Coming from Nebraska this could be a chunk of change! Be sure you understand the drop off charges BOTH ways if you decide on one-way rentals.

Also, be sure your rental will allow you to take the van to Florida. I had a rental from one of those insurance places that would not allow me to take it out of the state.

I have rented cars many times in the last 15 years. I suggest you rent 2 one way instead of one roundtrip. You don't want to park your van for one week and pay parking and other charges.

If you are not travelling around July 4th, you should get a mini van (A/C, Auto) for less than $60/day. I just checked mini van rental from Omaha to Miami from July 10th to July 14th with AAA discount which came around $240. If you go through Priceline, I am confident you can get 4 day minivan rental for less than $200. Let me know if you need any help. I'll be glad to help.

The coupons for an additional $20 off or free day require that You must charge your rental with your Sears card
