I a looking for something similar to Windsor Hills-just not as pricey-yeah I know you get what you pay for!

However, this is a big family trip and other people are to be considered. I have gotten quotes for Aviana and Solana for 10 nights around $1200. The cheapest I can get for WH is $1600-and that is because I practically begged for it and I think it is a newer home and the owner doesn't have a lot of renters yet. I want something with a clubhouse, playground and larger pool-the big slide thing is optional.

I would love to do WH but it is a big price difference-that I will have to pay and its not shared, but it is nice and closer. However, if we don't decide to do that which is a better resort in terms of location and other amenities I mentioned??

Sorry for all the questions but TIA!

There's also Emerald Island and Windsor Palms that are in the same area as Windsor Hills. I presume you'll be staying in a pool home. Both of these subdivisions have a clubhouse and community pool and playgrounds although they're not as grand as WH.
Whenever we go with the whole family (grandkids) they never want to go to the community pool, they always want to stay at "their" pool at the house. And since we're going to the parks at least every other day we never get the chance to use the community facilities. Being closer to the parks for us is our priority. :)
There are some nice homes in these two subdivisions also with great game rooms etc that will keep most families occupied without having to leave the house. Emerald Island also has a tiki bar at their clubhouse and pool area and a few planned activities.

On this map WH is #1, WPalms is #13 , Emerald Island #15, Solana #73 and Aviana is in the #84 area.

Thanks for your reply-we decided to go with windsor hills but when I checked it is no longer available but the owner has a 6 bedroom in windsor palms I can get for the same price-I think that is what we will do!

Just a question about this website. I contacted an owner through this website and would like to book the house but was wondering what checks I should be making? Is the Windsor Palms website trustworthy? Have others used it? I've read elsewhere about checking the tax status of the home. Are there other things I should be checking? Is paying with a credit card the safest if that's an option?

Thanks in advance for any help.

That is a website for just WPalm owers. It is trustworthy to a point. I don't know if they verify the ads or not but you can check tax records yourself when you know the owners name here:

You can check zillow.com for 'for sale' and recently sold homes. Just put in the address.

Paying with a credit card is considered the safest way to pay.

Thanks for the info Wanda! Everything checks out that I can find.

I guess the question for me is whether the WP website checks that the email addresses it has registered are for the actual owners and not somebody posing as the owner. Presumably they are.

Now I have an offer for a nicer looking home in Windsor Hills for less than $200 more for the 8 days. Only problem is it was purchased this year and I'm not as confident in it. It's not for sale though as far as I can tell and there are no taxes due (though the current owner hasn't had to pay any yet either). The owner has 2 other houses, one of which is for sale. What to do, what to do.....
