I am considering buying the Averatec Laptop that on offer in Walmart at the moment $998. Has anyone used any Averatec laptops in particular the AV 5428.

I'm on one right now! I like it but the biggest problem is the keyboard. I thought it was just me but I found it to be a common complaint about this laptop. No problem I added a USB keyboard and now it's great!

I have never owned another laptop but I'm very satisfied with this one. It's lightweight, small and tough as nails. The Averatec support staff is great, also! I've taken it to Orlando 4 times with no problems, either.

HTH,

Robinrs

Robinrs - what model do you have? I am thinking of the 5428 or the 6100 series!

I had to turn mne over... it's a 3120V. I've had it for over a year and got it from Best Buy for less than $1000 and then it had a $250 rebate. Well worth the money!

Excellent, thanks for the info!!1 Think I will purchase the model from Walmart it has built in WIFI and a dvd burner for $998

I worked at Best Buy and we sold lots of them and I think within 3 months they all needed some sort of repair. The screens are the largest problem not very sturdy. Great price and if you don't mind the fact you may be without it for a few weeks every say 6 months you will be fine. The cd roms and HDD's go bad fairly regularily to. Make sure you get the extended warranty on it wherever you get it.

I have the extended warranty and knock on wood, have never had to use it once.

I have had NO problems with it except the keyboard. With an 11yo and 4 cats who think it's a personal heater, too!!

MY daughter has had one for a year now, and no problems (knock on wood!). She loves it- especially the size.

I am a bit worried now, don't think the extended warranty will extend as far as the UK!!!

Hi,

The C3500 is a fairly new product. We bought ours a couple of weeks ago.

The tablet functionality is great.
