Average Weather in December on CC

We are planning a cruise in December and was wondering what the weather was like in December on Castaway Cay. Anyone??

I think it will be warm outside, but the water is cool?

DEC 78/63
JAN 77/62
Since they are both inthe Bahamas I guess they have similar weather.
I am much more interested in H20 temperatures in December- if anyone has an idea please post! Thanks

We were there Christmas week in 1999. The weather in Florida was unusually cold. We were wearing winter coats in the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day! By the time we got to Castaway Cay, the weather was warmer, but it was still on the chilly side. Kids loved the water and had a great time, but be prepared for the possibility that it may be chilly.

We were there in January during the really cold spell in the Northeast and it was 78 and the water was perfect. You should be fine.

Hooray- I really want to snorkel with my kids at CC- We are going the 2nd week of Dec. Sounds like the water will be alright.
They swim in our unheated pool in Maryland into October so I am sure they will be fine.

We were there the first week of Dec. in 02 and 03. Temps were about 83 and sunny. The water was a little chilly at first but we got used to it.......I think it was 78 degrees!!! We'll be there again at the tail end of our Dec. 4, 04 Western sailing!!!

We were there 12/26/2003.

Outside temps nice, around 80.

Water temps very cool.

Wasted my money on snorkel gear since kids put one toe in and that was it.

WAIT to get water gear until you are on the island and see if the kids really will go in.

We were on the 12/14/03 wonder, water was a bit chilly as had been mentioned before. But if they swim in an unheated pool in New Jersey in October, then they should be fine.

Beware of high winds though, they seem to be prevalent from what we experinced during this time.

The outside temperature though, was absolutely perfect.

They swim in 72 degree water at home. I don't go in untill 77. I'm a wimp.
Am encouraged by this
