We normally spend about £200-£250 on the 12,10 and 6 year old and spend a bit less on the 2 year old as he doesn't really play with toys so we just end up buying clothes for him.

This year is easy-peasy for us, I have spent about £70/£80 on each of the girls (inc some bits & pieces from WDW) and they are getting $150 dollars each to spend out there on Christmas pressies

We are doing everybody else in WDW when we are there Dec, duty free comes in handy!!!!

DD is done apart from board games which we are getting from WDW.

Theme this year is baby annabel the accessories are more expensive than the real things for real babies.

£4 for 4 nappies
carry harness £15
and playgym £20.

We were tempted to buy things from mothercare cheaper, lol.

Then she showed interest into bratz, the lil and babyz.

Then the regualar items PJ and xmas day outfit we are getting from WDW

DD was born premature and we discovered the same. Clothes for Baby Born were dearer So guess the girls dolls have real clothes now

The troops get about £100 each as a budget. Mind you DP is very good at saving some of the budget with 3 for 2 offers.

It sounds like Christmas can be very expensive for parents! I don't know how much my mum used to spend on me and my sister, but these days (I am 23 and my sister is 20) we just get a couple of small gifts each, if anything. I wouldn't want my mum to spend much on me these days. We both get lots of gifts from our respective partners and mum knows that, so we reassure her if she tells us she's sorry for not getting us much! I'd rather she just cooked us a nice big dinner instead.

My Parents never had the money to really splash out at Christmas, we never went without but we were never overindulged. I guess I try to overcompensate for that with my children. 2 years ago I got them 70 presents each and spent over £1000 - they were 1 and 3 at the time so didn't even appreciate it. I've cut down ALOT since then - this year they'll get somewhere between 20 and 30 presents each from us which will include stocking fillers.

This year will be the first time I've spent Christmas with my girls since they were 3 and 2 (so 8 years) so I have to admit to having gone overboard a bit. As well as their main present (next year's trip to Disney plus Disney Dollars and park tickets), they have an Art Studio thing to share and loads of other pressies. In total, we've probably spent about £350 each on them. They are also getting a PS2, which my Dad has given us the money for, so they are well and truly spoilt this year. We have spent slightly less on Daniel as he is only 3 so still appreciates the little things more. Probably spent about £100 on him.

Not sure whether to tell the girls before or after Christmas that they won't be getting the same amount spent on them every year

.....DD aged 9 is desperate for a "RoboRaptor" (??? Think that's how you spell it) but it is £90 and I know it would be a 5 minute wonder. So I've explained that it's too much money for what it is and she is fine with that.

I think it is so easy to get "carried away" with Xmas and go OTT so I now make a conscious effort not to. It is hard sometimes but at least it means I don't dread my post Xmas Visa bill

DD 7 wanted the pink dog version of this she saw in the Argos catalogue but like you I said no as I also know it would be a 5 minute wonder. She is getting some Barbie skates (which cost me £10 on e-bay) and DS is getting a telescope which cost £7 in Tesco. We will get them some other small bits and pieces and spend about £40 each in total. They know that they get to go to WDW each year and would rather we did this than spend loads on expensive presents at Christmas
