Average Price to tailor a suit/tux

I got a Tux for free for DS at a yard sale (I know it's early to think of this but - prom savings). It wasn't sized which is why they gave it away. As it's not sized I'm not 100% sure it will fit him around the waist, but if it does I'm going to have to have the jacket and pants hemmed he's slightly below average height (5'6"). I don't know if it's worth it to do this. A friend told me a rental will cost $150 min in our area. Can anyone tell me what it cost the last time they went to have a man's suit tailored? DH wears uniforms to work so not something I deal with. I know prices will vary but we'll probably go a chain rental place like Mr. Tux or Men's Wearhouse to have this done as I don't know of any seamstresses in the area (I sew but I don't do well with tailoring).
