I'll be one of the few to say I think she made the right choice; although she liked Adam, it was clear that her feelings for him where no where near where his feelings for her were. She alluded to that in some of her final comments, and said that she was afraid she'd really hurt Adam if she picked him. It did seem that the interest level of both she and Jason were about the same, so she went with that rather than picking someone whose feelings went beyond hers already.

Don't get me wrong, I'd have loved to have seen her and Adam fly off into the night together, but I think her choice was the right one.

And I'll also say she is one of the few dating show contestants I really liked. She seemed to put a lot of thought into what was happening and what she was doing; I admire that.

I felt soo bad for Adam. I was really hoping she would pick him. Jason seems like an OK guy, but I don't think they will last long together.

I knew she'd pick Jason. When I was her age I would've also, but at the grand ol"age I am NOW, I know better!

I just saw the interview on the Today Show. Adam already had a new girlfriend, no SHOCK there, and I'm sure after last night's show he'll have LOTS of offers!

I totally agree with this.... I noticed the same thing, and in some ways, I respect her for not wanting to risk hurting Adam more down the road, because given the fact that it crossed her mind, it probably would have happened that way.

Although, I also wanted her to choose him - what a sweetheart! Adam will make some woman - his current girlfriend or whomever - very happy.

Jason does seem like a nice guy too - at least as far as I could tell only seeing the last two shows.

OMG! My heart just broke for Adam when she picked Jason last night. You could tell he was so upset, but he handled it like a man and wished them all the best.

Kudos to him for that.

I do agree that I did like Melana up until the very end when I had to mutter the horried "what a B!#(%" to her. I know, I know...it's just a show. But still, you can't deny you didn't have the same reaction.

I hope that Adam finds absolute happiness in whatever he does from this point on, and I wouldn't mind seeing him show up on a future Bachelor. I know, I know....but still, you can't deny you didnt' have the same reaction.

What didn't surprise me about last night's show is that once she found out that Adam was rich, she got all touchy feely with him. I said to my DH, "see how attractive money makes some people."

Adam will be better off with an Average Jane who loves him for him and who will think he is the most handsome man in the world... not some beauty queen who wants a trophy on her arm.

I was also sad to see Melana pick Jason. But as someone else said, I probably would have picked Jason when I was younger. Adam is so sweet, and I hope his new girlfriend is genuine and finds happiness. Adam is more stable careerwise and is more romantic. I don't dislike Jason, but to me he is just a pretty face. Maybe I have these feelings because I once dated a pretty boy and was dumped by him and my DH is not the most handsome, but is the sweetest guy and I'm happy I found him. I'm sure that Jason and Melana's relationship won't last too long. It seems more like a fling than a long term relationship.

DD and I have watched the show from the start. We've certainly been entertained. What a hoot! Like some of the other comments, Adam may have been a nice guy, but his voice and teeth were more than I would be able to handle for too long. He just seemed a little rough around the edges. That is fine except I didn't see that Melana had rough edges. DD and I really liked Jason. I just don't think his real personality came out in the show. Realistically it probably won't work, but hey it's television. Two gorgeous people together. I just think there were too many differences between Adam and Melana. The problem with picking Jason was defeating to the public eye - Average Joe. He definitely isn't that. Another point I see as going with Melana and Jason is the fact that they seemed more like private people, while Adam was a definite "buddy" kind of type. Wish I could have caught the "Today" show to see the followup.

I totally agree. I thought the only reason she would pick Adam was because of the money. Adam is such a sweety how he set up the room with flowers and puppy. She didn't deserve him. I hope Adam finds someone as sweet and caring as he is.

I wonder why AJ2 isn't reversed, 1 man and 16 average women? Maybe more "average Joes" try out for this type of show.

It really was a no-win situation for her. If she picks the pretty boy, people say she is going for looks, if she picks the rich guy, then they say she's a gold digger.

I guess my question is whether or not all of the original Average Joes were millionaires. What would the chances be that the only one she kept would be a millionaire? Either that or NBC somehow forced this whole game, which wouldn't surprise me either. Both of the conversations she held with the guys at the end seemed scripted to me. When she told Jason "sorry" and gave the long pause, I thought for sure that she was keeping Adam. Then she dramatically says she's going to keep Jason.

I felt really sorry for Adam. I certainly hope he didn't have to sit in that bus and watch them play kissy face and then get in the plane together. That would be just plain mean on NBC's part. That's certainly what they wanted us to think.

Gosh, I just reread what I wrote, and I sure am in a cynical mood today!!

I'm pretty sure that all of the Average Joes were well off. Taking potentially six weeks off from work is not something you can easily do if you're behind on bills. I believe she is the only one the show helped out financially.

I think it would have been interesting to keep the information about Adam's wealth from her until after she'd decided.

Here's something else - Adam would have been able to afford flying out every other weekend to see her or fly her out, Jason likely wouldn't be able to.

I was initially furious that she didn't pick Adam, but then I realized that he deserves much better than her. So, ultimately, I think it's a good thing.

Having said that...could someone please explain to me what it is that she (or anyone else) might possibly find attractive about Jason???

I don't think he's all that physically attractive. He is a waiter who lives with his parents. He seems to have very little personality. He doesn't seem interesting. He didn't even seem all that interested in Melana. Actually, he seemed more interested in "winning" that trip.

I guess I just don't get it...

I so agree, Jason made some comment on the show last night I totally thought she was going to dump him but she breezed right over it, darn I wish I could remember it, but I totally thought it was Adam and very disappointed that she picked Jason. I am definately not watching the next one, I agree she is worse the this one and what is with the "beauty queen" thing.

I liked Adam better than Jason, but I don't know if he would have been the better choice for Melana. If commitment was the goal (I'm mixing up all the reality shows so I don't know if it was), I got the feeling that Jason was just as likely to want to settle down as Adam. In the hanger, didn't Adam say something to the effect that he started the show not ready to settle down?

But in the end, Melana's choice of the better looking guy didn't bother me. It was just a reflection of the real world - we all decide what's important to us - whether it be looks, money, job, brains, sense of humor, caring nature, etc. - and I don't think anyone picks less than the best mate they can get, in terms of that particular quality(s).

It would have never worked with Adam and Melana. He was totally into her, but she wasn't feeling it for him. Yes, he's a great guy, romantic, fun, and rich, but the sparks weren't there for her. She didn't mind the affection and attention, but she was accepting it, instead of giving.
The chemistry was there for her with Jason. You could tell in that last kiss.
She would have made Adam miserable.

Didn't you see when they got done playing polo and jason won the date and adam said congratulations and raised a toast, and jason said to him 'I don't know what YOU'RE toasting to...' and then a minute later made another completely rude comment about one of the 'average joes'?

SERIOUSLY? Aw, I must have missed that. I saw the polo game and all; maybe I was reading the DIS when he said that. I could forgive the first comment, but what was the 2nd rude comment?
