Hello to all!
Finally scheduled my very first visit to WDW for Oct 2008. I was considering the DDP, but I'm not sure if it's worth it considering I don't know exactly how much it would cost for two adults and one 12yr old to eat at least two meals per day for 6 days in the park.I was quoted $569.85 extra for the basic dining plan. I do enjoy good food so I do want to make reservations for TS meals. I really wanted to do Boma, Sci-Fi Dine In, and Coral Reef to name a few. My family really enjoys buffets also. I'm not worried about racing around the parks I just want to enjoy a bit of everything, rides, parades+fireworks and good food. I also would like to know if there is a link to the amount of credits required for each resteraunt.
I just would like to know the average for those who have been to Disney recently for a family of 3 with both TS and Quick dining. Does the price quote with two meals a day plus snacks for 2 adults and one 12 yr old sound reasonable? P.S. my 12 yr old is a really good eater...lol

The DDP can work for you IF you use your TS meals at dinner time. With an entree, drink, dessert, dinner will run you between $25-$40 per person. Obviously depends on your selections but on the plan I feel good about being able to order what I want...I already paid for it!

QS meals, entree, drink, dessert, will run you between $10-$15 per person. Again depends what you eat and something else. We often split QS meals and stretch them out. My wife and I can split the double cheese burger/fries/drink easily. POR offers a pasta that is HUGE and filling.

Snacks are typically $2-$4 each. Some of these snacks can make for breakfast...cinnamon rolls come to mind.

The other thing we do is bring water with us...it's $2/bottle in the world and you can always get a case at home for $5. It saves a bunch on the snack counts.

You have some nice choices. Check out Kona Cafe in the Polynesian.

On the Disney site, the $$$ and $$$$ restaurants are usually two credits. Make sure you ask when your making your ressies.

Last...the website, allears.net has all the menus for your review. It's a great way to see what each restaurant offers and there are also reviews available.

The dining plan doesn't work for everyone...it sounds like it will work for you.
