I was wondering if anyone had any estimates on the average cost of food for a week in Disney. We are staying at the Pop, me, husband, 4yr old & 2 yr old??? Not sure on how much to budget.
Are you planning any sit down meals, or all counter service? Even for just burgers, fries, and drinks at counter service, plan aroun $20-$25/meal. Usually good to budget around $100/day, especially with kids wanting snacks. And for sit down meals, even more.
If you have booked a package, room+MYW tickets, you could add on the meal plan for about $85 a day. That gives you two full meals (one sit down or buffet and one counter service) plus a snack for each day. It is a good value for any family that plans to do sit down meals, if you plan on all walk up meals then it will not work. There is a ton of info on the Dining Plan on the DIS.
Here is a link to a site with menus and prices (top left of page has links in blue):
It varies greatly. We average $20/person/day but we eat breakfast in our room and have some meals offsite. If all meals will be onsite and you'll be going out for breakfast, it would be higher.
I also wanted to add a lot of the counter service combo meals can be split between an adult and a child or two children. If you look at the menus on allears you can get a good idea of what you'll be ordering, but in reality we always eat a lot less in WDW than I think we will when I plan things.
Very true. We almost never order 3 full meals. We always share a drink or an order of fries or an entire meal.
Also, remember that just because the menu board only lists "burger and fries" doesn't mean you can't just order the burger by itself even though they don't tell you that's an option.
