How were the crowds for the week before and after? That is generally when we like to go for the holidays but I'm thinking of pushing it back to the week after the race, nov 16- 23 or so.

We thought saturday and sunday night of race weekend were really busy, lots of people so it was hard to maneuver at times. Sunday morning was very manageable. After the race from monday on was low crowds.

I agree that the actual weekend days were on the busy side, but by Monday the crowds were fairly manageable. Saturday night was very busy and DTD a was very crowded. Sunday morning was okay, but seemed busier than an average Sunday morning. I would avoid the parking structure if at all possible (took us about 30 minutes to get in when coming from Ball Rd). The park was busy, but it wasn't unmanageable (5-15 minutes lines in the morning). The crowds grew throughout the day and were fairly heavy in the afternoon/evening. On Monday, the hours were short (Mon to Thu), but we managed to get a fair amount done during the day. I was a little worried about the marathon crowds as well, but it wasn't an issue in the end.

Oh good, so maybe flying in Sunday would work out ok... I'd love to see the Christmas decorations again :)

I think if you avoid the weekend you'll be fine. The parks felt super crowded to me but I think a lot of folks were there since it was the first weekend of the holiday season. We were in the parks Fri-Mon. Left Monday around noon. Monday was the least crowded of the days we were there.
