Avengers Campus Superthread – Opening June 4, 2021!

We got BG 3 this morning! DS was the successful one, with an old Samsung phone, using hotel wi-fi, and the pull-down/refresh method. He also got us a 7 a.m. BG for ROTR yesterday using the same method. All of my strategizing and practicing was easily beat by gamer skills.

Planned on having a later morning today, but we booked it to the habor entrance once we saw our low BG number. In line Harbor side at 7:30, in CA at exactly 8:30, walked on Web Slingers (which was SO FUN!) and then rode GOTG a couple of times with only a few minutes wait. Worth the early morning!

I was pretty successful during our trip. I did 4 tries total. Day 1 failed the 7AM ROTR, but got 12 PM ROTR (grp 86). Day 2, got 7AM WS (grp 12), no one was interested in doing ROTR again so I skipped that. 3rd day started in DL and got a 12 WS (grp 94) while in the Pirates line.

I really don't think tab or pull down matters. They are essentially the same thing. When you tab over it refreshes just like pull down. The key is being quick at tapping buttons. I was tapping the area where the final join button is before it appeared after tapping the first join.

Using Samsung S21 on AT&T data. Using a newer phone means you don't need to bother with closing apps or tweaking settings. Here is the method I used. At few minutes to the hour I open DL app go to virtual queue section. I then go back to home and open a browser loading time.is to view the time. Once the time get to ~3s to the hour I switch to the DL app. If the join button is not present I will pull down refresh until it appears.

Great report, and welcome aboard! :thumbsup2

I've been trying everything. I have a new iPhone with 5G, so this time I tried data and tab. This morning it was wifi and tab. In both cases, the blue button wasn't there when the atomic clock said it should be, and I ended up pulling down to refresh anyway. It spun a bit and the blue button showed up, but by the time I got to select group (I'm practicing, not actually in parks) it was full, maybe 2 seconds later.

I'm kind of hoping that it's more to do with not having a reservation today. In that case, our tickets would already be automatically selected, so maybe it would speed things up. Hoping I can figure this out before I'm there on the 23rd.
Just curious, when the atomic clock said it was 7, did your phone time also say 7?

With my IPhone, I wait until the iPhone time changes to 7 and seem to almost always be successful.

Can anyone detail Atomic Clock or World Clock on iPhone? I cannot find a way to display seconds. Everything I DuckDuck is for old versions of IOS and not working for me. iPhone X with latest IOS (just updated last night).

At WDW I just used the Clock icon to see the second hand. But I would rather have it in analog.

Guess I'm getting old!

Neither of my kids like Star Wars... I have tried, they kind of liked Mandalorian...
Dang, I’m a Star Wars fan but I still think ROTR is awesome for anyone, SW fan or not, because of how immersive it is and the insane amount of detail

For those who have ridden WS, without spoiling anything, did you like it? I’m trying to decide how high or low to set my expectations

I had really low expectations after reading various opinions posted by strangers on Facebook. But surprise, I LOVED it. It was lots of fun and the highlight of our day. Everyone in my party loved it.

We LOVED it. Clever story and setup for the ride, loved the tie in to the whole of Avengers Campus, fun ride technology. We cannot wait to go on it again.

You didn’t ask but I didn’t it feel any need for the extra accessories. Might be cool to see their effects but I really didn’t feel I was missing anything without them, at least as a first time rider.

We went in not expecting anything groundbreaking and our entire party, from my 15 year old nephew to my parents in their 70's, all had a great time on the ride. We can't wait to experience it again.

My expectations were already lowered by some of the posts about it, and I think rightfully so. It's not a bad ride by any means- I enjoyed it, especially the pre-show. But as I mentioned in my trip report I think it ranks behind pretty much every similar ride here in SoCal. Not sure if I can really elaborate without spoiling anything.

Unsuccessful practice again, ugh! I tapped so fast and then it just spun and spun until it said something went wrong 🤦‍♀️
