So did anyone else tune into Disney Channel last night to watch the new DCOM? What did you think?
I thought that it was too weird to hear Gregg Sulkin trying to use an American accent. It sounded like he struggled with some words and made his voice sound weird.
Other than that, it was just okay.

I actually forgot that it was on last night.

I loved the book when I was a freshman, not sure how much I'd like it now.

I'm sure I'll get around to watching it soon.

Super excited to watch it! I started it but couldn't finish yet=((recorded it). Greg Sulkin is amazing!!!!!! Super cute!<3

I was out last night, so I didn't get to watch it, but I heard mixed reviews. I heard it was "cute" and that it was "a stupid movie".

And I've heard the British dude's American accent on the commercials, no way I'd be able to watch a whole movie listening to that. He sounds terrible! Why didn't they have somebody with an actual American accent to play the role, instead of him trying to do an American accent? It's just not good...

I don't think his accent was that bad; it's just that we already knew he was British, so we payed more attention to it. But other than that, I thought it was pretty good. I haven't read the book, though, so I'm not sure how it compares.

I didn't watch it, but I think that if they changed the main character's name (which, if I remember correctly, was a plot point) then it really wouldn't have been such a big deal if they made Greg's character have a British accent.

wait, what?
is it based on the book or..?

It is based on the book, but some things are changed, or at least that's what I hear. I never read the book before.

I agree with MickeyisBeast on the accent thing. Or, like I Am What I Am said, they could've had Gregg talk normal with his accent. But maybe magicallyDisney001 is right, and we're just listening for his accent.
Here's a clip with MAJOR American accent for poor Gregg :(

The book is typical light, fluffy, Meg Cabot chick lit.

It's kind of like Princess Diaries but with more blatant allusions to the story of King Arthur. Right up Disney Channel's alley.
