I have been on an auto waitlist for awhile now and would still call once in a while to check and see if something was in the computer. I had this happen on 2 other ressies, so assumed that the rooms go into a general pool before being snatched by waitlisted ressies.

This morning I called since my waitlisted rooms are only 3 weeks away and I'm getting very ansy and the ms assured me that available rooms go directly to the waitlist first. I explained to the ms that I had found that not always to be the case, to which he replied that the rooms DO go to the waitlist first. He said that there might be an occasional computer glitch and the rooms do go to general first, but that is the exception.
I asked him if he would please check availibililty anyway and he just repeated what he had said.
What is your feeling on this, do you think they go to the waitlist first? I think next week I'll go off the auto list and start calling every day, I'm getting too anxious to do nothing.

We used the waitlist for some days over the Thanksgiving holiday and I was very nervous until the days came through. My experience is as follows: We went on the waitlist and nothing happened. One day I called to check and was put on hold by a very nice rep. I don't know where he "pulled" 2 of our 4 nights from but when he came back on the line he did indeed have 2 of the nights we needed. Later that day I got a call for the night #3 so we were only waitlisted for T-day itself and that day came through about 2 weeks later. I was on pins and needles waiting for that last day. In my case it was a combination of calling and being on the waitlist that eventually got me what I needed.

I hope your days come through for you soon!!!!

I would call occasionally. I did the same thing and the last time I called, I was told that that is their job, they would be happy to check. She also said that she can't tell how many time you called in the past to check. I have gotten a room calling when I was on the waitlist and the waitlist worked once too. I have also seen many posts from other members saying the same thing, CALL. You'll probably have a page of answers here telling the same.

Thanks for the encouragement. After talking to ms this morning, I was feeling embarrassed and unsure about whether to keep calling or not.
