Availabilty For Non-DVC

Wasn't sure to put this on DVC or Resort board, so both. I'm planning a trip for six in 7-02 non of us a members, yet.. And would like to say at BWV, when do the units open to the public. I called awhile back and was told they were only till June. So when should I call about July. Is it likey there will be availabilty.

Welcome to the DVC Board. This is the right place for your question.

To answer your first question, you should be able to call now for July 2002.

As for availabilty at BWV or any DVC resort, the number of rooms placed in the inventory for cash customers is based on a combination of two factors 1)the number of DVC member who have decided to use thier points outside of DVC resorts and 2) the number of rooms not yet "sold" to a member. (BWV is technically sold out) This description is a little vague, but I hope it give you a better idea.

Your best bet is to call and see if there is avaibility for cash customers at this time. We can guess for you, but only CRO call tell you for sure.

Another option to get a room is to use an organization like American Airlines Vacations. My first trip to OKW when I decided to investigate the DVC was through American Airlines. I tried to get a room on my own at first and was not successful. Evidently DVC blocks out some of its inventory to American Airlines and you might be able to book Boardwalk through them even if you can't get it on your own. The website is:

We were unable to get cash availability right up until a month or so before our trip but could get point availability. I had hoped to have a cash night so we wouldn't use all our points ( and FIL was going to pay) but they didn't have it so we used points (sigh)
