Leaving for DLP tomorrow and would like to ask a final question.
Are buggies or strollers as the Americas call them, available to hire.

They are available for 6.50 euros per day. Whether it is better to bring your own depends on the age of the child who will be using it, and bear in mind there is a limited number available. They are more suitable for slightly older children, rather than babies and toddlers - they are quite large and cumbersome and don't recline. Also, you can't take the same one between parks unless you pay a deposit of 150 euros. You have to re-hire it - though you don't have to pay again, just show your receipt from earlier.

Can you tell I wasn't particularly impressed?!! ;)

Thanks for the info. My 5 year old DS can get over enthusiastic on occasions like this so we thought a buggie may be the answer.

Hire charges are now €7.50.
They have also changed mostly to a three wheeled version in the Disneyland Park which is much lighter and easier to manoeuvre. The downside with the newer style is that it does not have the fold-down boogie board for an additional child to stand on.

The Studios still appeared to have the older, heavier style :)

Maybe this is a little too late for the OP, but.... This is the one I rented in June. It's the 4-wheel version with a step in back for a second child. This is my DD5 in the seat and DD3 on the back.

Watch out for fibbing CMs in the stroller rental area. We tried to hire a 4 wheel version so that it would accommodate our two kids as we had been doing for 3 days. The chap said that there were none of these type left as they had all been hired out....at 8.15am!!!!!!! We had to pay for two strollers as my daughter wasn't feeling well and did not fancy walking. We returned to the shop 2 hours later to find loads of the boogie board ones, but they would not allow us to swap. We had to return the two paid for 3 wheel ones and then hell out again for a 4 wheel one. All in all a buggy cost us over 20 Euro for one day. Tried complainaing, but no one cared much....

Shame about your experience as we found the CM's very helpful, although many of the guests kept trying to cut in line :confused3

Think is had you hired one and then went back with your receipt and said that it had been taken you would have had a replacement free of charge. :)

On one occassion we asked another guest if they would swap. They were delighted as the 3 wheeler sits higher up. :thumbsup2

One point re strollers - take a bag of junk (sandwiches, empty bags, whatever you have on you!) and hang it on the back of the stroller if you leave it unattended. We went into the crystal shop in Main St last summer and left the stroller (with our name on the back) parked outside as it was v busy and we didn't want to break anything. Went back 10 mins later and it was gone! No more left at the rental line so we were left without one. I think that if it looks as if you have shopping on the back it may be less likely to be taken - but obviously don't put anything on there you wouldn't want to lose!

When I took our actual stroller I took a cycle lock with me so I could chain it to railings - my friend had her MacLaren buggy taken at DLP :(

We did this the first visit but after 1 day of it gave it up. Thankfully your friends experience is rare as we've had no problems with a range of expensive and cheap prams and buggies :)
