Availability in December?

My MIL just offered us a week of her timeshare through RCI, I think it is called. A couple of years ago she was able to get a one bedroom at OKW, but it was very difficult.

I teach a class in Orlando each year, so our dates are fixed for the week of 12/8. MIL is going to try for one of the DVC properties, and I'm really hoping, but..... just in case...

Has anyone stayed at a really GREAT offsite time share near Disney & SeaWorld? If we can't get into DVC then I need a plan B. And yes, I am a compulsive planner like most of my friends on these boards

I haven't stayed there but Vistana has a good reputation. They are located very near to Downtown Disney.

I just read at another location that something like 37,000 members of other timeshares tried to trade into DVC last year. Only about 3,000 of them got in.
