Availability for Thanksgiving???

I just found out that the family member that I was going with the week of Thanksgiving can no longer go. We are both DVCers, she had booked a Grand Villa at OKC for November 21st-27th with her points. Is there any chance that I can get a one bedroom anywhere for that week??

Reservations is open on Sundays now aren't they? I hope I don't have to wait until Monday to call!

I bet you will get something at SSR or OKW. We booked a Thanksgiving trip for 08 (2br) and we booked it in mid Sept. The ONLY night that never came through was Thanksgiving night but we arrived the Thursday before Thanksgiving so every other night was available. We just booked our last night through CRO at another Disney resort. GOOD LUCK!!!

Ok, this is what I got all one bedrooms:

Sun, Mon, Tues--SSR
Wed--waitlisted SSR, BLT, cash ressie SSR ($341.24 plus tax)
Thurs--BLT lake view
Fri--SSR


I am really hoping that Wednesday night comes through somewhere! The cash ressie is just a back up. I really want BLT for that night so we can stay there two nights, I really an happy about checking it out, we have never been there. I already have Thanksgiving dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's so that will work out nicely. The reservation is for 5 though for our two additional family members. Now we are only 3. If we show up with 3 will they let us in?? I will try to get it for 3 and cancel the other but in case I can't- what do you think?

I am not thrilled about moving around but at least we are going! I am thinking of cancelling the DDP for Friday because one of the benefits of BLT is easy access to MK that we could go to on Friday (although-- is it going to be madness there the day after Thanksgiving?) but on Friday morning I think we have to go over to SSR to get our cards for the DDP. Same thing with moving to BLT we have to go over there to get the DDP. I wish we could get one card for the whole time and not worry about it. Has anyone done this before and have tips on making it less of a hassle??

You will have 3 DDP on that trip. You will have it for the nights at SSR. Then you will get another one for Thursday. Then a 3rd one for Friday at SSR.
Was BLT not available on Friday..then you would not have to move so much?

No, it was not available. Now that the thrill of having any reservations at all has worn off, the reality of how this will go is setting in.

Well I had SPLIT trip thread going a few weeks ago. We had a crazy one this summer. We have done splits the past 4 summers. I am over it. LOL In July we drove to WDW for the first time since 02. We stayed our first night at Buena Vista Suites which was fine. We got in late. However the next day we moved over to Shade of Green for JUST 2 nights to be near our friends at BLT and to extend our trip so we could see them. THEN we moved to SSR for 7 days THEN we moved to VERO for 4 nights. HOWEVER our first night at Vero we were in a 1 br and then we moved to TWO INN ROOMS after that for 3 nights. I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN. Did I mention NEVER AGAIN. The summer of 09 we did two nights at Poly in two rooms followed by 5 at BLT followed by 2 at AKV Kidani. I swore after that trip I would never split unless we had atleast 4 or 5 days at each place.

It is not THE WORST THING ever..you will be at WDW but it is a pain to move a lot. You lose time each day you move really. Maybe you can split your stay at do 1/2 on cash and 1/2 on points so you don't have to move but ONCE. Good luck.
