I am reading with great interest the posts about BWV this morning. We would like to stay there a week in Sept., which is a slower season. I am not flexible on dates. Will it be possible to get a standard view at 7 mo. out? I would prefer a 2 BR -- how do the sizes rate in difficulty to get? Thank you for any suggestions.

The biggest problem you will encounter at the 7 month window is that BWV has a limited number of standard view rooms, fewer than other DVC resorts. You will probably be able to reserve a 2BR at that time, but standard view will be tough to come by. Add in any maintenance work (although I hope they will not have much of it then) and that could further restrict the # of standard view rooms available.

Good luck in your reservation! :)

Standard views of all sizes tend to book prior to the opening of the 7 month window no matter what the time of year. My understanding is that studios and one bedrooms book more quickly than 2 bedrooms (I think there are more of them, though).

As mentioned by Boardwalk33, the outside rehab work will move to the standard view rooms in 2003. That will take a good portion of them out of service. It is possible that the rehab work will be completed prior to September, though.

That said, availability is always changing. You just never know. My advice is not to plan on getting a standard view when you call, but plan instead to spend some time on the waitlist. (I'd also advise making a back up reservation since your dates are not flexible. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a 2 bedroom unit available for points for at least one of the WDW DVC resorts).

IMHO, of the lower point months, September at BWV is easier to get than October, November & December. I'd say it's about the same as booking 7 months ahead for January. The really big unknown for 2003 is the rehab schedule.

Good luck - hope it works out for you!

Should I make a reservation at my home resort (VWL) at 11 mo. first? Should I call day by day for the Sept. week at BWV? If we arrive late on a Sat. and want to save points by staying at another Disney resort, would I have MS book this too, and use the DVC discount for it? I don't know how to find other discounts.

By all means, make a reservation at your home resort and try to switch to BWV at 7 months- that way you'll have a reservation for certain. You can even take advantage of the waitlist if standard view is not available on a daily basis.

MS can make reservations at any DVC resort using points or cash and can make point reservations at other WDW resorts, but can't make cash ressies at non-DVC resorts. DVC discounts are available only at DVC resorts- when available at all.

You can submit a request to Dreams Unlimited Travel to get the best rates available for other WDW resorts.

Good Luck!
