Availability at 7 mos?

We booked a 1 bedroom at the 7 month mark for this August, 08/21-08/26. The only thing available was an Ocean View which was fine since that was what we wanted, but I was surprised that's all we could book.

Can you only book 7 months in advance? What if you're not DVC? What's the earliest you can book?

If you're not using DVC points (your own or renting), then I believe that you could book a year or more in advance.

Oh I see, thank you! I am planning to go next year but will have to rent points from someone (though I"ll check the cost and see if it's less than paying retail)

For some reference, when we last checked what our Ocean View Studio would've cost us for cash it was $750/night.
