Availability at 7 months - BCV / BWK

Hello all,

I am closing on my first DVC contract any day now. Just waiting for title company to receive seller docs (they mentioned seller already signed so just waiting for them to arrive from Canada). Bought at AKV and plan to go there for most trips. Absolutely obsessed with AKV. However, we do plan to try a few other resorts at some point. In particular, in 2021, we want to get into BCV or BWK (boardwalk view).

For the first few years we are looking at staying in studios and staying for a week (either Sat. to Sat. or Sun. to Sun. and if needed cutting it short 1 day and going Sun. to Sat.). I've already reviewed the availability charts and various comments on this board. The issue there though is that the availability charts are basically last years availability, and they don't contemplate booking as soon as the 7 month window opens. I'm prepared to be on the site and book within minutes of the window opening. With respect to other people's comments on availability, and their struggle with getting studios, is that most people seem to be booking during the Adventure or Choice seasons when DVC is particularly busy.

Having said all that, my wife is a teacher so we will be going during Dream or Magic season. Our goal is Dream season, specifically the last 2 weeks of August. On occasion we may need to do Magic season, specifically the summer months.

So, how hard is it really to get into either BCV or BWK (boardwalk view) studios for a week in the last 2 weeks of August or earlier in the summer if I am on the booking site when the 7 month window opens? Will I see a good success rate if I need to waitlist them? Of course, if we need to "settle" for a AKV we will not be disappointed .

Studios at BCV are always difficult year round. Everyone and their dog wants to stay there and it is a small resort. A BWV boardwalk view studio will also be a hard to get reservation due to their limited number. You can realistically expect that BWV will have G/P studios.

We had no problem booking a BWV garden/pool view studio 8/18-28 this year at the 7 month mark. I think the last 2 weeks of August aren't so bad. We could have booked all but CCV, BCV and GFV
