Autumn is here! Show me your best fall pictures!

Jazzy - those pics are awesome! :thumbsup2 The colors really jump off the page; are they straight from the camera or did you do some editing?

They are straight from the camera but I did use a circular polarizing filter on the lens when I took the pictures mostly to cut down on the glare but it also saturated the colors. I think the high altitude and the clear day were just the perfect combination.

MANY of you have gorgeous bright colors! Are you using a program, or is it right off the camera? Care to share your secrets? :)

I did a small bit of editing/enhancing on mine. Sharpened them up a bit and also adjust the brightness. Out of camera on some the sky was too blue so I lightened it to more of what it actually looked like. The colors on the trees this year are great, one of the better years we've had in a long time. I tried doing a color boost on some, but they became to colorful, so I left that alone.

The photos I took were taken with the "vivid" mode on or the "foliage" scene selection on. It makes the colors pop just a bit more. But mine have no post downloading editing done to them - yet!!! :goodvibes I want to go back and clean some of the floating stuff off the water, it's a bit distracting to my eye!

Marge, do you mind sharing what camera you use?

We're still procrasinating (yes, we're professionals too!) about the Rebel XT, but DH is wanting to check out other brands before we take the plunge.

(Sorry if you've already mentioned this!)

Here's three from a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains last week:

I have the CanonS2IS, it's a great camera. I had a Pentex SLR before going digital and found that I really didn't utilize all of its features, so I was hesitant to go with another SLR with all the different lens that I never changed anyway! This camera has everything I had on my old one (that I used!) plus a lot of extras that I'm learning to use. The only thing it doesn't do is change lens!! There are lens adaptors for it (Ho! Ho!Ho!) that are for telephoto and wide angle work, and I would love to look into those. It's the perfect camera for me, as I'm a grab and go kind of gal. However, when I want to take a bit more time (aka, no kids!) and really play, this camera has some great capabilites for that as well! I don't know anything about the RebelXT as it was out of my range, both for use and price at the time, but there are people who swear by it!! Good luck with your choice, either would be a great camera. :sunny:

Mine were also straight out of the camera (Canon S3). They were shot in Foliage scene mode.

YEKCIM, those are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Camera type ? Edited? Setting? Do tell...... :thumbsup2

Here are a few more from a few weekends ago. Finally got around to uploading them to photobucket. This is a farm north of Boston. They had a pumpkin day. Pick your own pumpkins.

Beautiful shots, Kyle, but SHAME on you for tempting me to move to DSLR-world. The wife of me shot tons of pix with her brand new D200 on our trip to VA/NC last week and I sure envied her...at least until I got back and d/l my S5200 shots. I gotta say that I'll take my S5200 with the 38-380mm zoom range over her D200 with kit lens. Disclaimer: I *do* know that with a superior lens the D200 would clean my clock, image wise.
