Autoslash? How does this work?

So I had a rate with costco/alamo but put in autoslash dates etc and it came up with a considerably cheaper rate with Hertz. Does it not tell you how they got that rate - as in what coupons etc?

Can you reserve then cancel later if need be?

I'm just unfamiliar with autoslash and didn't want to get tied into something should a better deal come up. Thank you!

Check the conditions of the one you click. I found when I used autoslash for a trip this past January that I was able to cancel my reservation multiple times as I rebooked it when prices dropped. I think there sometimes was an option to PAY NOW and those were not refundable. I ended up getting a great deal using autoslash and I'm currently hunting down another reservation for a trip next month. Already canceled it once because I booked the wrong week... oops!

I have a reservation with Alamo via Autoslash in July. My first time using them but the rate was the lowest I found and I can cancel if something better comes up.
