I will be visiting DLR in early June with my DD6 and DD8 by myself. I think I figured out all the logistics of riding rides with only one adult for everything except Autopia. My DD8 is 52 inches. According to the DL website, you must be 54 inches to ride alone. Is this a hard and fast rule? Has anyone else encountered this problem? She really wants to ride this and I hate to tell her no if I don't have to.

Unfortunately that 54" is the rule. You need to be this height to safely sit and be able to control the gas pedal. This is why the driver must be 54" tall. If riding alone the person must be the driver.

My son started "driving" the cars when he was just 38" tall. He would sit in the drivers seat, steer the wheel and I would push down on the gas! So, no your daughter will not be able to drive by herself, but she can drive if you are the passenger - you'll just need to help with the gas!

I also found the gas pedals difficult to push. I am not sure how some of the kids are able to push it down the entire way.

You can squeeze 3 people in the vehicle. You may just have to ride it twice so both your kids get to "drive." This is my 7 yr old DD's favorite! Use FP for it during the day, but at night there's usually no line.

Thanks for the information! I was not sure that 3 of us would be able to fit or if that was even allowed. We will probaly just do it that way.

this dear lord this, I feel like I just ran a marathon on one leg after riding autotopia, about half way through the rie I have one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on my knee helping it push down the gas pedal

My 9 year old grand daughters were tall enough but found out they aren't strong enough to push that gas pedal for very long. They had a huge line of not very happy people behind them. I would go and push the pedal and let them steer.
