Just thought I'd post this tip. My DD was always scared of the autoflush toilets when she was younger....

We figured out if you take small sticker and place it over the "eye" sensor that the toilet would not flush until your removed the sticker.

This was a lifesaver for a fearful child.

Thanks!! I was thinking of doing post-it notes over the "eye" for our upcoming trip. DS5 REFUSES to go into toilets that are automatic flushing. Hopefully, this will help him with his fear! He can't hold it all day!

I've read in several places that the post-it notes are a good idea. My DD hates them at WalMart because they are so loud. I hope we don't have a problem in WDW in January.

The automatic toilets didn't bother my toddler nephew, but he freaked out in the restroom on the plane. He just wasn't prepred for how bouncy and scary it was. If we had told him what they were like before he got on the plane it would have helped.

Just a few weeks ago I saw a child maybe 6 years old having a fit in the bathroom at the castle. She was shaking and screaming. You could tell her mom was at wits end. I felt bad but it was also kinda funny. The mom was trying to convince the little girl it was ok so she said " Don't worry Minnie makes sure all the toilets work right." And then you could hear the older child with them say " Minnie?" real sarcastic. It was funny but I felt bad for them. It was going to be a long day if the little girl wouldn't use the toilets.

My 8 year old is still scared of the automatic toilet flushers. She usually makes me go into the stall with her and hold my hand over the eye so it doesn't flush while she is using it, even though she is getting too old for that!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I just returned from Disney with my 4 year old niece princess: (12/4-12/9)- we encountered the "auto flush" for the first time at the orlando airport-- at first she was scared, but i explained to her we are now in Disney and EVERYTHING is magic :wizard: here- the auto flush AND the auto sinks!

she was not scared at all after that!!

Instead of bringing post-it notes with you, just stop by any of the DVC kiosks and ask for a few stickers. The work just as well and its one less thing to pack.

If you find the baby centers at each park, they have a bathroom with "regular" flushing toilets. The CM totally understood when I brought my DD4 in. She said thats what they are there for!

Just as an FYI, we keep a square of magnetic paper in a baggie for the toilets. They work perfectly and are reusable.

Instead of bringing anything extra or picking anything extra up.

Take a few squares of toilet paper and fold them over and drape it over the eye. This works great for my DD (3)

What a life saver!

Just be sure to take it off for the next person that uses the stall. I can't believe how many people don't flush the toilets or don't make sure it flushes before they leave the stall.

My poor 2.5 year old (was nearly potty trained) was TERRIFIED of the toilets. Even after telling her they were magic and covering the censor, sh ewas so scared. We reverted back now. She won't use the potty at all :( I have been at this for so long, I'm discouraged now. I wish I would have known about them before I left. I could have brought sticky notes and it not been a problem at all!

The worst and loudest toilets I found were aboard the Disney Magic. It had my daughter cover her ears everytime it flushed. Out of habit she did so for a months after the cruise at home.

It's been a year since we've been on the cruise in April 2006 and she was 3 years old almost 4 now and still talks about the loud toilets.
