Autographs on a Disney Poster

We have been searching for a different way to collect character autographs this time. It would have to be posters with light backgrounds. Then we would use colorful sharpies for the autographs. Is a Disney poster a good and practical idea for collecting autographs? Thanks!

I love this idea. I would be a little worried about the condition of the poster by the end of the day! We are going in March and planning to stop at DTD for baseball hats and balls for everyone yo sign. Something different.

That's exactly what I was worried about, but we plan to keep them in the tube when they aren't being autographed. We thought about baseball hats too but we will be there for 14 days and a hat is too small for so many autographs.

You would need a poster tube to carry it around in order to protect it. Might be a little awkward getting it out, unrolling it, and holding it in position for the character to sign it (especially if it's a large poster). You would need something firm to put under it so it could be easily signed. Then you would have to be able to roll it up quickly and stow it away in the tube before moving out of the way. If you can figure out the logistics of this then you should be fine. I don't think I would have the patience. Good luck.

That is a very good idea. Could be framed. I may use this. :thumbsup2;)

I can already imagine them framed in each of DDs rooms. I hope it will be possible!

It's like you took my worries and typed them up. I think we are going to give it a try, I think? ;)

It could work if you go to say, Epcot, and line up in the building where all the characters are all at once and have them sign. But I can't see you taking the poster all over the place, trying to get on rides etc, very cumbersome and difficult to carry around. But, if you got all the signatures, then someone was willing to take it the poster back to the room, it could work:thumbsup2.

Or, perhaps one of the stores would be willing to hold it for you behind the desk? Worth a try.

This isn't a fun way to get the autographs, but it's practical. My husband and I got a really awesome shot with like 20 characters in DHS while we were on our honeymoon. The following year, we went back to Disney and I wanted to get all of the signatures on a matte to border an 8x10 print of the picture. So I brought the matte with me and the photograph, sharpie markers, to guest services in DHS. I asked them if they could sign the characters' autographs for me and they did :). It turned out great and it was so much easier to not have to carry around the matte, markers, etc.

It takes the fun out of getting autographs, but it saves you a little bit of a hassle.

The posters we are looking into aren't huge. They are 16"x 20" and we would keep them in the tube. They would fit in our bags. :)

Long ago, years really, I saw a thread about a family getting a poster from Epcot, in the exit of Journey of Imagination. Then having the characters autograph that.

We go get a poster every year now and frame it. Have not had is autographed though, maybe this trip.

We bought a laminated poster of the Princesses for my DD which she then got them each to sign (Well, except for Pocahontas, we just missed meeting up with her). It was fabulous! They signed on the skirts of their dresses mostly and it's a really great souvenir that DD has up on her wall now. I highly recommend this. The princesses themselves were great about it, they all seemed extra happy to sign something different. We had a great interaction with Jasmine about it and Aurora also because she was in her blue dress on our poster so she chatted about that with us.

We used sharpies on the laminate and it worked great! Rolled it up and tucked it into our shoulder bags, no problem.

I think the only issue is how to hold it/sign it with no flat surfaces around and it being hard to carry something like a clipboard to use.

Here is an idea, which would make a great photo op. Do the whole turn around and sign on someone's back thing. I think it would be cute.

Best image I could find.
