Should we use a perm. marker or an actual pen?

whats the preferred medium for the characters

The big pens they sell in the parks would be a good way to go. It's probably easier for some of them to hold. And hey, it's an inexpensive souvenir. ;)

A lot of people like the Sharpies that don't have caps (that way you don't have to worry about losing the caps) - they're easier to hold for the characters that have covered hands (like Mickey and Minnie).

We used sharpies. We used a different color for each child. If you don't want to use sharpies, then a big pen is perfect. Like others said, it is easier to hold with the thick gloves.

Can anyone tell me if the clickable Sharpies bleed through the pages? I'm assuming not since a lot if people are using them but want to confirm. Thanks:)

We use clickable Sharpies on index cards. It's better to use black or red. We used a variety of colors on our first trip & the light greens, orange, & pinks don't show up as well.

I don't know if they would bleed through the autograph books or not.

I think that regular ballpoint pens just don't show up that well. We used a Sharpie on this past trip and I don't think that they bled through the autograph books, which have thicker pages.

I get those large clickable sharpies..have not had a problem bleeding through the page but we get those books with the picture holder on one side.

Only bad thing, me in my stupidity left them in my bag when we went to the waterpark. Well the lockers get wet or people put wet things in them so the pens got wet and leaked all over the bag ;) lesson learned! Now I put them in a ziplock bag so the pens can't leak on things.

We used the really large sharpies because I had heard the characters do better with them, and they worked great. Ours had the caps on them, but we just took them off before we handed them to the character.

We used sharpies on our trip as well. One caution: when we were getting Eeyore's signature somehow he ended up with a big red sharpie smear on him. He looked like he was bleeding or cut. Disturbing for children and I'm not sure how they will get it out of the costume. I felt so bad.

You can use either as long as it is thicker around than a regular pen.

I'm one of those who likes the clickable sharpies because they can clip on without coming apart. They are big enough for characters to grasp and they look nice and thick when they sign.

I brought a few different sharpies. BUT looking back I kinda feel bad about them.

A few of the chareacters (tigger, Donald, etc) didn't have the best control with them, so the sharpie got on their costumes.

And it got on the tables at a couple of the tables at the character meals. There is now a table/ chair at chef mickeys and a table at the crystal palace that have been "decorated" by our sharpies.
