Autographs for 2 year old?

We get 2 autograph books with our package. I have a feeling DSD will claim one of them and DSS will have no interest in the other one. Is there any point in having DD collect autographs or will it just be a distraction for her? She will hopefully be fine walking up to characters and giving them hugs and interacting with them. Do I just let the pictures of this be enough?

I like to help my kids collect autopraphs and then take a photo. When we get home I print out the photos ( on plain paper so they are not so thick) and then using wallet size I glue them to the page with the autogpraph. It is fun to look back at how much they have grown and is a fun keep sake for them. I would take it along just in case she wants it and decide when there. I doubt that she will care much now.

In my opinion, autographs take FOREVER! My son (now 7) has never been particularly interested. My daughter (now 9) has always loved autographs. One year I did a book for each child and it majorly cut down on the interaction time. We stopped the second book after one day (my son didn't care) and it was much more fun and took less time.

At age 2, your child "probably" won't care. She will probably prefer to hug the characters than stand there while they struggle to sign yet another autograph. This is sort of off topic, but I think my least favorite Disney memory was when my daughter was 4 and LOVED the princesses. We stood in line to meet them and the two of us were the last of our group to be let in. We were behind two women who EACH was carrying five full-sized scrapbooks for each of the three princesses to sign, plus they had three or four children who each had an autograph book. To say it took forever would be an understatement. I have no problem with adults getting autographs, but man, this was ridiculous! Though I suppose they deserved their time just for carrying that many large albums around the MK :rotfl2:

IMO having the younger kids have a book to sign helps them break the ice. They are faced with a purpose of signing the book, not just walking up to a very large, imposing character.

Having the book gives them a reason to say hi, even if they could give two hoots about the siggie once they're done. We did a autobook for DS(2.5 at the time) and it went over like gangbusters.

He will be on his 3rd trip this fall and his original book I made for him is going back again. He loves giving the characters the book, hugs, and saying hi.

At 2, your DD might be a little scared of the characters. My DD loved her authograph book at that age. It was a great ice breaker to get her up to the characters. Anytime we saw a character she grabbed her book. You might not have the same problem, though, considering your DD will have two older siblings to help her interact.
