Autographing Pillow Cases and Canvas Totes

Do I really need Fabric Markers or will Sharpies work just fine as in holding up to laundry and such once we get home? thanks,

We used all different colors of Regular sharpies - and after 2 year and plenty of washes, it's now just starting to faid away.....

I used black sharpie fine.

A tip I got from here was also to use an embroidery hoop so that the characters have something to hold on to when they sign - keeps things all neat and you can decide where the autographs go on the bag/pillow case

I was wondering about this, I thought about putting a clipboard in there

I thought of clipboard/cereal packet cardboard etc, but now I've seen the embroidery hoop in action, it works a dream! I nearly didn't pack the hoop as I was trying to pack 'minimal' but put it in at the last min. I was amazed that the characters can hold a pen and sign with such big "hands", never mind hold an autograph book, so knew the bag I had taken would be tricky. But the hoop was really great for them to hold onto, as it makes the fabric less flat. Definitely worth packing if you already own one!

I am also wondering how hard (or easy) is it to undo and redo the hoop between characters?

My hoop was about 5inch diameter. I didn't tighten it too much so it was quicker to swap in between autographs. If there were 2 characters together I would move the hoop quickly whilst DS7 had a quick individual photo with the characters or pass it to my mum to do during any 'team' photo. Depends if you have others in the party who can lend a hand for the 2 character situations, or I can see it might get a little tricky with only 1 pair of hands!
