Ok, I'm new here (hi!) and planning our first vacation to WDW. I know all about the autograph books and wonder, if you make a scrapbook (with character pages ) for autographs, how do you decide which characters to make pages? I really want to do pre-made pages but am at a loss which characters to do. I'm an avid CM user, so I was thinking a 7x7 album ( love the Bloomin' album, esp since it's plastic!) but that's as far as I've gotten.

BTW- my girls will be 2 1/2 and 4 when we go, if that helps. :)
thanks!

I personally haven't made any pre made pages for autograph books for the very same reason. I know some people on here have guessed who they would be seeing. Mickey and Friends, Pooh and friends, Princesses. Those are the easy to find characters. You could also do any for character meals you will be attending. Those are usually the same characters at each meal. When we went last Dec. I bought a 4 x 6 spiral bound index card book from the local office supply store. I had the characters sign it and then did the pages at home. It fit nicely with the colored sharpies in my fanny pack. Other people have used tags. If you are going to use the CM small albums you could probably just take those pages with you and put them in a ziploc bag. I didn't want to carry around such a large item. I hope this has helped you out some.

THanks for the info. As for the markers, do you worrry using a Sharpie for scrapbooking (ie long lasting)? I see that they are used for the CM's a lot but I wonder for the test of time, will they last. :scared:

This is a link with photos of autograph books for DD6 and DS4.

I premade most of the pages. I started with the kids' favorites, the ones we would meet at character meals, and then guessed who we would be likely to meet. It was very fast to do, so I made a ton of them. I brought extra tags with me. Next trip we will have DS2 with us, so I am just bringing tags. Too much work to handle the pages and 3 kids.

I brought the whole page minus the photos of course.

I always purchase the autograph books at the hotel for my son to look at throughout the year. For scrapbook pages, I cut cardstock and put it into a zip loc bag along with a couple of scrapbook markers. We always have the character sign the book and the little piece of cardstock. I find that if we have everything ready it doesn't take but a second more for them to sign two pieces of paper. Then I have the cardstock pieces to put on pages and his book stays nice.

WOW@! These are amazing! What size where the pages? Full 8x10 or bigger/smaller? I can see how that would be a PITA to carry around but what a wonderful keepsake!!

For the tags, are you going to decorate them? Or just leave blank?
thanks for the info!

Wow - how many pages do you take with you? I'm trying to get an idea of how many to work on for my two girls. :)

The pages were 8x8. The pages I posted were completed. I am not touching those albums again. In the end, DD has 3 albums and DS 2 albums -- he wasn't as intersted in meeting the characters and I didn't force it. Yes, they were a pain to carry around, but with DH help it was okay. I just don't think I could do it for 3 kids.

Good luck with your albums. The characters really did fuss over the pages and it did make DD6 feel special (DS4 could have cared less...what a waste of time!!!)

I just cut a bunch of white cardstock into squares about 4x4 usually about 10-15 sheets. I usually have leftover and can save that i a zip loc for the next trip! Or for scraps. I just put everything in my backpack. I do bring another baggie to put the cardstock that gets used each day, that way I don't have them sigm both sides by accident.

For two kids, I would probabel cut 15 pieces ( I like to have extra just in case)
