autograph pens

I know I've seen many topics about this, but no one has addressed mini sharpies. I have ones that I was able to attach to the kids pin lanyards so the caps won't get lost. Does anyone know if the characters are able to sign with them since its a shorter length?

the fatter and bigger the pen the better. For the traditional characters they have the costume hands on and it is hard for them to grip. They prefer the big fat ones.

Those little pens will be difficult for costumed characters with big hands to handle. I get the Sharpie retractable pens. They are broad tip (but not super fat) and no lid means you can't lose it and the pen is always ready. In fact, I just bought 2 today.

This is what we used too. They worked great.
