Autograph ideas?

I just read on another thread that a lady likes to have the WDW characters autograph a Mickey apron, then she can wear it when she cooks.

Got me to thinking...wouldn't it be cute to have some sort of momento for my kids to USE after the trip, rather than signatures in a book? Thinking of getting them both a Mickey apron for our Chef Mickey meal. Any good ideas of what could be signed for the Tusker House lunch or Akershus Princess meal?

Also - logistics. How would you hand an apron to Mickey to sign? Would it need to be on an embroidery thing (loom?)?

Thanks for any input! :)

At our last visit we got each of my girls a t-shirt with all the princesses on them, and got a laundry marker. We had all the princesses sign their shirts. Just hand it to them neatly folded to the area you want signed

When we went in 2010, dd had just turned 6 and was in kindergarten. We got her a lunchbox that had 6 or 7 of the princesses on it and had the princesses sign it. It was perfect- I only had to carry around the lunchbox for one day at Epcot. We got all signatures at Asherkus, plus Jasmine's in the morocco area. Dd is now in 4th grade but she still uses the lunch box at least 1-2 times a week.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards. past trips: Jan 2010 at WL- our magical first trip, Feb 2012 at WL- our escape from the SuperBowl

I am going to preface this post by saying I cannot remember where I heard this tip, nor can I verify it.... but you may be able to submit your item to be autographed to the front desk of your resort hotel with the permanent markers you want used. The item will get signed and returned to you by check out.
I remember that the item signed was a canvas grocery bag that the person scotch guarded after it was signedso that it can be washed.

Here is a pic of the bag my DD took to Disney last time we went.. We just carried a clipboard and various Sharpie markers for the characters to sign with.. She had a lot of fun getting it signed..

Some ideas I saw on pinterest include a children's book, pillowcase photo frame mat.
I did the photo mat last time. It turned out really well. Only took it to character meals so not everyday.

i have done many things in the past such as t-shirts, pillowcases, tote bags, and photo frames. one thing i did when i was younger was take my older edition of my Disney encyclopedia and have the characters sign on the page they are listed on!

My friend is coming with us for our next trip with her 5 year old daughter. I was looking into quilt squares for the princesses to sign. Then maybe find a good way to get some photos on fabric and make a nice quilt for her.
