Hi, I have heard about the gold autograph books that have the spaces for pictures, but do the parks still have the regular blue books with minnie, mickey, goofy etc. on them?

Yep, they still have the blue ones.. My kids always make their own so they have that extra $10 to go towards something else...

Do all you frequent disney visitors continue on your old books for autographs or do you buy new ones for every trip?? I'm trying to decide whether I should buy my son a new one for this trip.

Also...

I remember reading that the characters prefer a "fat" pen to write with... it's easier for them to hold. Which would be better, a pen or a Sharpie??

We do a new one every year - DD loves getting the autographs, and will happily have the same character sign - over and over again. :) One year we had FOUR Snow White autographs - in the same book. :rotfl2:

Kala - We've used both a fat pen and a Sharpie - We are going to try the new retractable Sharpies this year.

Do the sharpies not bleed through? I have never tried them, just figuring that they would. If not, I will definitely be using the sharpie this year!

I was wondering the same thing about the Sharpies bleeding through, that's really why I asked. I was at the store and saw the new retractable ones and thought they would be perfect... if they don't bleed through. Anyone have any experience with them?

When DSs were little, we always used the regular ones--but had the characters only sign the right hand side of the open book. When we came home, I would put the picture of them with that character onto the page on the left---then they could look through themselves and know who's autograph it was.
