Hey ... first time bringing the kids in October. I have a question. Where do I buy autograph books? At WDW? At the resort (WL)? or at home? I have a 6 and 3 1/2 yr old, so I guess I should get two!

:Pinkbounc Thanks in advance!! :bounce:

Having two children myself, I would suggest buying two. To save yourself some money, bring 2 "fat" pens from home...they are quite pricey at WDW.

You can always purchase the books at the little kiosks as soon as you walk into any park (or the first store you see) and I also think they will have them at the gift shop in the lobby at WL.

Enjoy your stay at WL...my boys loved it there...be sure to check out the night goggles some evening and the kids trivia every night...it's a great resort.

Have fun!

The autograph books and pens are available everywhere...even the Disney store at the Orlando airport.

For our last trip, I just went to a craft store and bought a small scrapbook. Then, I decorated the front cover with Disney stickers to give it a personal touch. I've also heard of people decorating each page with character stickers and then having the character sign that specific page.

I thought the Disney pen was a nice souvenier, but if you bring your own pen, make sure it's "fat," since the characters have a hard time gripping thin pens. I fat sharpie marker would work too.

Have fun! Collecting autographs is a blast!

Thanks for the info!

Can't wait until October. I think I am more excited than the kids!

Last summer I bought Disney autograph books at the Emporium (sp?) on Main Street in Magic Kingdom ... they were cute but the paper was very thin.

This year I'm buying 6x6 cheapie scrapbooks from Michaels ... will have the character sign on the front side of each page ... then when I get home I'm going to use a couple of 5x7 Razzy Red (Creative Memories) albums and CM's Magic of Disney snap pack to make photo-autograph albums. I'll use the MoD snap pack to decorate the pages in the CM album, remove the signatures from the "cheapie" albums, mat the photos with PMP (photo mounting pape) and mount them on a page in the 5x7, put a photo of the character and child on the facing page.

CM doesn't make 5x7 albums any more, but the 7x7 Ltd. Ed. Strazz album would be perfect ... it's a pretty blue with a exploding stars design on the front and the pages are bright blue with red jeeping) ... the pages are so cute that you don't need to do any additional decoration if you don't want too. I'd be using these, but I already have the Razzy Red ones (which are also cute).

Or you can just bring a CM album ... get the characters to sign the pages on both sides of the pages, then when you get home insert additional pages between the characters, decorate them with the MoD snap pack, add the photos, maybe journal a bit and voila you have a wonder memorial keepsake album.

The 7x7 albums come with 12 pages and you can insert a page refill pack for a total of 48 sides.

I would definitely get two autograph books ... collecting autographs and making "smooshed" (i.e. pressed) pennies were my grandkids (5½ and 7 years old) favorite things to do last summer!

I bought a red spiral scrap book at the craft store and decorated it with Mickey stickers and a picture of my DD with her mickey ears on the front. I added some scrapbook paper to the inside back cover and let her add her own stickers and drawing to make it her own. I hope to get the characters to sign on side so I can put her pictures with them on the other. I also found a great idea to not loose the fat pen . I bought some string and tied it to the cap clip and rapped floral tape around the entire cap to secure the string, then tied the other end to a jewlery clip and clipped it to the spiral binding. That way the pen is always with the book and you just have to uncap it for the characters to use. :p
