Hi All-

I'm making up a 'goodie box' for my neice and nephew for their very first WDW trip- and was disappointed to find that the Warehouse stores don't seem to carry autograph books.

Does anyone know of anywhere that would carry them for not a totally outrageous price?

I do have a year or so to get my 'goodies' together, but as you can see- I'm trying to get a head start.

TIA.......

You can order them from WDW Merchandise. 407-363-6200.

I'm doing this for our Easter trip; autograph book, pressed penny book, Epcot passport, 100 year of magic pins,..............

Make them yourself since you have plenty of time. Then they are personal and cheaper. We took a spiral bound notebook 5" x 5" with heavy paper and pasted clipart of each character on a page. Only did the front of the page, that way when we took a photo of DD and the character, it could be pasted on the back of the previous page so that you have a photo and signiture. The characters really loved seeing there picture on the page and drew some realy need art on some of them. For instance, Eeyore drew a cloud and rai coming down over his clipart. It also helps the child find the page for the character to sign.

I found two photo books, spiral bound in a card shop. They were on sale, about $3.00 each. Had a muted Mickey/MInnie print on the front. They were terrific. We x'ed out the pages on the left hand side so that we could put photos there, next to the autograph. They were a nice size too, bigger than the standard WDW books and they fit into fanny packs. Try looking in the card shops. Maybe you'll get lucky too.

We did see them in Disney call disney store inn downtoen disney. They will send it out to you. We also thought we saw them at the Disney store at our home mall. Good luck
:p :bounce: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I agree with Ratpack - make your own. We did this for DD and DS and the characters really did make a big deal about seeing their picture. Some of them teased each other that there picture was not there. Lots of interaction and the kids loved it.

It also helps DD who can not yet read remember who's signature is whose.

I found them at the dollar store locally. They say autographs on the front and were $1 (obviously, lol). I am considering cutting out clipart and putting different characters on each page, but I'm not sure how this will work out ~ will it be hard to find the "right" page in the spur of the moment with the kids excited? ~which characters should I include? ~Or should I just wait until after they get the autographs and then add the art? Don't know....what are others expierences? Tonia

It wasn't really hard to find the correct pages. We just found the page as DD was standing in line and had it ready for the Character to sign. Some even drew pictures for her.

We grouped characters together

Example:

Aladdin, Genie, Jasmine
Chip and Dale
Minnie and Mickey
Donald, Goofy, Pluto
Queen of Hearts and the King,
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb(Don't know if they actually sign or not)
Hook, Smee and Peter Pan
Alice and the Rabbit

You get the idea. We didn't get all of the signatures, but she can fill in when we go back. We also made the book so new pages can be added and I will then put the autograph page with a picture of her getting her autograph.

Hope this helps. It was a lot of fun doing the book this way.

Thanks Everyone!!

These are such fantastic ideas- and now that I think about it, my SIL is a really Crafty person!

She'd love this........

Thanks again......

TigerLilly's Mom:

Buy sticker paper to print the clip art on and then stick that on the page. They come in all different sizes and they may even have some that is suitable for scrapbooking. (I'm not sure, just guessing. Anyone?)

I found this page when I did a search for "autograph" because I'm considering making on for my kids as well. The one thing I am seriously considering is making only ONE book for the three of them. I'm considering this because with 3 kids I hate to take up the time for 3 sigs every time we see someone. (Not that I care if anyone else does, just me! :D) Plus, I 'sort of' scrapbook and thought I could use just the one sig to put on the page with the 3 pics of each girl and the character. Make sense?

Anyway, try the sticker paper rather than paste.

Have fun!!! :D

That is a great idea, however.... I already printed everything out, LOL. I printed out two of everything, now I just have to cut and glue. Wish I would have thought of that before hand. Oh well, I found out something else that I never knew. I was using Google to fine Disney clipart, but google has a special section to do just an image search, they show all the results as images, it's great! I found that out at the end of my character search too! Good luck with your books - if it were my kids, they would fight over having only one book (who gets to give it to the character, who holds the pen, me this time,no me, ect.), but that could just be my kids, they will fight about ANYTHING!

Oops! :D Well, maybe next time!! LOL!!

BTW, it's not as if my kids never fight (please  )but since we homeschool they are together all the time and seem to be more 'in tune' and careful of each others feelings when it comes to the big stuff. Now, if I could only get them to stop bickering over who is going to let the dog out......:D

I understand what you are thinking of doing, but I think you may have some fights on your hands with just one scrapbook. It's one of those things that each child wants to claim ownership of...

Also, I turn their autograph books into "mini scrapbooks" for each of the kids. I decorate the cover, and usually add some pages in the back for each child to put pics and comments about their favorites (Favorite ride in each park, Favorite meal, Favorite activity, Favorite parade, etc...).

Then, if I want something in one of their books for the family scrapbook, I scan the page when we get home, and add it to our huge book of all things Disney. ROFL, this way I don't have to worry about one of the kids thinking that they actually have a chance of taking the "Big Book" with them when they move out!

Well, I still think my kiddies will do ok with the bickering, but the above is enough to make me reconsider!! ROFL!!! :smooth:

Hsminnie: I was thinking the same thing: 1 book, shared autographs for our 4 normal bickering AND considerate-at-times kids. Now I'm wondering about doing a hat or T-shirt signing for each of them instead & 1 book for the big family scrapbook (next year's project -- this year's was planning this trip!) that NOONE takes when they leave.

Lightbulb going off suddenly: What about one of those blank canvas bags from Craft stores?
Sorry to detour from the OP's thread so much. Do you think that would work?

Oh yeah, that would work fine! Just be sure to get fabric pens that won't wash out and find a piece of cardboard or something to give support to the back. I've seen a lot of other good ideas with hats, t-shirts, etc.

I think the key to such things is to have a good pen and support so the characters can write well. :D

Cinlee3, yes, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum do sign the books. One of them even wrote "happy birthday to clayton" backwards above his signature! :) The only ones we saw that didn't sign were Mike and Sulley and one of the bears, Brer Bear maybe? Woody and Buzz have a stamp of their signature.

Seeing the characters was my DS's favorite part of the trip (11/13 -- 11/19). He couldn't get enough of them! We filled up many, many pages. I was told by many people that they had never seen so many characters around. Now, there were several ones I missed though -- Pinocchio, Snow White. Oh, well! The most magical moment of our whole trip was when my son rode on the carousel on a horse right next to Bert and the penguins. He had this look of awe on his face the whole time -- and never turned away from them. He has seen the Disneyland Fun video before, and was convinced that he was going to go on rides with Dopey and other characters. I was so glad that he was able to go on with at least one!

I'm not sure where to buy autograph books ahead of time -- but I didn't think they were such a bad price at the parks at $6. I also bought one of their "fat pens" at the park for $3.

My husband had a great idea, I think -- we haven't tried it yet. He suggested we put the pictures of our son with each character (taken with digital camera) on to the sticker paper that you can run through your printer. I'm really hoping that will work! Anyone ever try that?

We saw a lot of unusual characters -- so I was glad I hadn't put the clip art on first. I would not have had a page for some of them. Also, sometimes we were rushed, so it was good that we didn't have to find the page first! Now, granted, my DS just turned 3 while we were down there, so we also had to wheel him over to the characters, get him out of the stroller, get the camera ready, find the book/pen, etc. I'm not the fastest person! :)

If Overstock.com ever sells them again, buy the signable Mickey and Minnie. They come dressed in natural colored clothing. We took Mickey to Chef Mickey's for my DS's birthday party. Had all the characters sign it -- it was great! We had many people ask just where we had gotten it. Since we had lots of family members there also, I had each one of them sign their name as well. Even our waiter signed it! What a special keepsake for DS! I also had each family member write a little note to him in his autograph book as well.
