Okay the autograph book thing is new to me. Where do I get them? At the hotel gift shop maybe?

yes, they are more than likely available at the hotel gift shop...and in the parks, too. if you want, you can even order them online so that you'll be prepared when you get to DL.
HTH! :)

Step away from the autograph books, :rotfl2: ! This is one thing I am SO glad my kids don't want to do. In fact, last year they were glad to walk past character lines in favor of the rides!

The other time waster (jmho) is pin trading.

I'm jaded, though...having a done a stint as Chuck E. Cheese the romance of costume characters is lost on me.

We got our first from the very first place we could find one. They are everywhere. My guy was only 3 and we didn't think he would want to take part, but while waiting to meet Buzz he saw all these other kids having him sign books, and he desperately wanted to do it too. Alas I wasn't there at the moment and hubby couldn't run over to the nearby giftshop without losing the chance to meet Buzz, and we are STILL waiting to get his signature to match the picture hubby took of him and DS. :)

I was a chicken as a kid and HATED the characters, so the whole thing still weirds me out that I have a kid so very different from me. But hubby is an extrovert as well, so I guess that's where he got it.:upsidedow

I don't much like pin trading either...I collect them, just don't trade them. Hubby likes to trade...I don't understand it at all...But he knows which ones are NOT tradeable (the gifts from me), b/c he likes living, LOL...

The autograh books are pretty much everywhere - they shouldn't be hard to find. I still love getting my picture taken with the characters for fun, but the magic in the autograph books was just never there for me.

If you can, get or make an autograph book before you arrive. Sometimes Mickey and Minnie will be waiting just past the entrance and if you don't have the book, you'll miss a photo/autograph chance.

You can even pick up a small notebook and decorate it.

If you come across a character line that is too long, you can always skip it. I think autograph books are a blast and make for some good memories.

ETA: You can find some sellers on Ebay or Etsy that make autograph books.
