I was wandering if anyone has ever designed their own autograph book for their child insteading of buying one? I just think it would mean alot more to my DD6 if I made one for her. If anyone has made a book if they could please give me some ideas or send a picture of it I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!:)

Yes! I just went to Michaels craft store yesterday and they had blank white
pages that you could actually make a book out of (with a cover). Then we bought a bunch of Disney cut outs in the scrapbooking section. The kids loved it. When you visit DW every year, its good to come up with new ideas.
Have fun!

I don't have a picture of it, but that is what we do too. THe kids and I use our scrapbooking tools and have a great time. I usually go to Hobby Lobby and buy tons of stickers when they go on sale. It is always more of a conversation piece for the characters when they sign it.

Somebody last year sent me an e-mail of pictures of the characters. I printed those out and put them in a book that we decorated. The characters loved it. They made a big deal of signing their name by their pictures. If anyone wants the e-mail let me know and I will send it.

I made two personalized autograph books for my grandkids last year. They were a big hit. I got mine at the Paperchase section of Borders bookstore. I wanted ones big enough to put a 4x6 picture on the page opposite the autograph. I have since done specific themed ones ( Princesses and Buzz Lightyear) on commission and just got a commission for 2 more. One hint- cover them with clear contact paper! It's a little tricky to work with but your books will hold up much better. It prevented disaster on the way there last year for us. Grandson had his carry-on under the seat in front of him and a kid in the seat over it spilled his drink and it leaked into GS's carry-on onto the autograph book. Wiped right off thanks to the contact paper covering the cover.;) Have fun...remember that there are no rules, just go with what you like. The kids will love them.

This is a lot of fun and a great way to pass the time as you anticipate your trip. I made one by downloading Disney clip art and printing on card stock. Then I organized the pages and had them bound at Kinkos -- this was really nice as they also included a front and back cover, so it looked very finished and I was able to include a bunch of pages.

You can get a lot of grea ideas at the Creative DISign board --- there are a lot of generous people that will give you access to their templates and ideas. There is also a great "sticky" page by Baloo that includes a lot of super Disney clipart sites. Be careful, you also may embark on some personalized t-shirt transfer projects too!!!

There are also great ideas for just having scrapbook pages autographed so you can scrap w/pics when you return. Also pillowcases, quilt squares, picture mats and plain white bucket hats are some ideas for autographs as well.

Here's what I made for DS4. I found the *DIS-lime green* foam book at Walmart back in their craft area. The pages are card stock. The ribbon came from Walmart and the stickers and letters came from Michael's.

There'a a pdf floating around w/ pages for each character w/ a picture and their name on it. Check out the Creative Community board...there are tons of custom autograph book ideas there!!

...t.

I have the autograph book template as well. It's tons of different characters, and room for each one to sign. I printed it at home on lightweight card stock and cropped the edges. Office Max bound it with a coil binding and added plastic to the front and a back part for only 6 dollars...and I love it!!
PM me and I will email it to you...just don't forget to send me your email address.

Thanks for all the great ideas, I will go to the craft store this weekend and check some things out!
Thanks again everyone!:cool1:
