Just a question - when you are making autograph books with characters on the pages, do you create ones you hope to see and bind them after your trip? Create ones you know you'll see only? What happens if you don't see a character, isnt it a shame having blank pages?

Well, you have a few options. You can use generic designs for each park and just take out whatever leftover pages you have. You can carry the cards in a ziploc bag (or a photo album) and then bind the ones with autographs when you get home. You can also use the cards for the characters that are reported to be seen most often, then add in a few generic designs at the end for any rare characters that you see, and then take out the unsigned pages when you get home. You could also make an album that has EVERY character, and then take it on all of your Disney trips in order to complete the book (don't laugh, I know people who have done this). If you are looking for a list of characters that are most likely to be seen in the parks, check out my autograph album thread (post #13): http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2323160. Good luck with your autograph book, and feel free to ask questions on my thread! :goodvibes

How I plan on doing our books is to print out pages for our character meals and doing blank pages for all the park characters that way I do not print out ones that I might not see. I'm the type that does not want blank pages in between the other pages;)

Thanks Musicmouse - off to check it out.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I normally buy an autograph album with photo pages so that it gets filled but It's big to cart around and we're trying to save some money this time. Thanks for the advice.

I think it's personal preference about binding the pages or keeping them loose. They both have pros/cons.

If you bind the pages into a booklet, it is much easier to carry around (although it may be heavier). You can easily flip through the pages and organize them however you want. Pages don't get lost or crumpled when inside a booklet. Characters can easily sign the page because the booklet provides support. However, when you are done with your trip, you may have lots of pages blank in between. I've seen people make one big booklet, and others have made a several small booklets (one for each park, and one for character meals).

If you have loose pages, you can organize the signed cards in a photo album or bind them later. You will have to bring a clipboard or something to place the cards on for the characters to sign. You'll also have a stack of loose cards that can get messy. You have more flexibility with your cards to scan them and use in your photo albums.

My personal preference is to have a stack of loose cards. I have a small decorated clipboard that we attach the cards to for the characters to sign. I have a 4x6 photo album that has 4 photos per page that I put them in after they get signed. We look at the photo album a lot, just like our trip photos. You'll probably want to think through your strategy before you start printing them all out. It's lots of work, but they are so wonderful and make good memories.

Have fun!!!

Thank you, that was very helpful. I'm actually wondering if I bound them using one of the curly spiral bindings (plastic ones) I could remove pages later as necessary. Maybe do some blank pages and only do specific ones for the meals we're going too or those we're seeking out!

Thanks :-)

I just finished making my book....I printed out ones that I thought we would see and maybe a few extras...I also did the character meals we are going to....my thinking was when we get home we could easily remove any pages that were still blank or if the kids want they can keep them in and bring that book again next time!! We leave TOMORROW so I will let you know how it goes when we get back and see if I have any other info to add after we have used them :thumbsup2
