Autograph Books for kids or anyone?

Should I do an autograph book?

  • Go for it! Anyone can get autographs and you won't look out of place

  • Go for it if you want but most people getting autographs are kids

  • Don't do it! Autograph books are for kids

I have already determined that I will be trying to get as many photos with Characters as possible. I am trying to decide if I should do autographs as well.

I have posted a poll but you can also give more info below if you choose! Thanks for your input!

I haven't done autographs since my very first time at WDW when I was 12!

I am going on my trip with a friend for 3 days and then 2 days solo.

I saw plenty of adults getting autographs when we were there in Jan.

Trust me, if you are the weirdest person in the park that day just because you are getting autographs I think the universe may implode!

I've done two solo trips and have collected autographs on both of them with no problems :thumbsup2

I get the autograph books and get as many as I can. I plan to do so again in Nov. I like to use them to scrapbook.

I would have to say, a combo of option 1 & 2. Go for it you won't be out of place but most of those getting autographs are children.

I get autographs all the time, it's part of the fun.

Last year I had an autograph book and got some photos I had taken the previous years signed. This year I've done some drawings of characters which I want to get signed.

One of the things I lost most about Disneyland is there are no age limits, really.
Adults can act like kids (not in terms of immaturity though lol) and no one will think it's weird.
I seriously considered buying an autograph book the last time I was there.
So I say go for it! Age is just a number at DLR :)

But if you're a bit embarrassed you can just tell people you are collecting the autographs for your kid/nephew/niece etc ;)

Thanks everyone!

I am actually thinking of taking pieces of cardstock and having the characters sign those and then using them in a scrapbook later on with the pictures I get. Trying to figure out if that will work or if I should get a book and just take the pages out of the book when i get to scrapbooking.

Decisions Decisions...

If you are going to get the autographs of any specific characters a book can be really neat. There are a number of books that cover multiple characters or character groups. While watching the coronation ceremony today, I noticed two people getting princess books signed. They almost always get a interesting reaction from the characters. They do require some carrying around, a locker is a plus.

We did this when we went to WDW last year and it worked really well, IMO, much better than the autograph books we used when the kids were younger.

In the Creative DISigns section, there are wonderful generous people who have designed things like this for anyone to use. Now, most are WDW-oriented (for instance, cards with characters in the restaurant-themed dress where you would find them), but if you do not find something you like, you can request exactly what you want, and they will make it for you. Then you download the picture and print it yourself onto cardstock. They do not charge anything for this.

I just got back a few weeks ago and loved getting my own autographs. My kids also had their autograph books, but I didn't feel silly at all asking for my own book to be autographed.

I carried this book and a sharpie marker around with me all week (thank goodness for strollers!).

The only character that I ran into that wasn't in the book was Princess Tiana. The rest of the characters all happily signed their own page -- and many of them took a minute to read about themselves and comment on their pictures. It made for some extra fun character interaction. :thumbsup2
