:flower3:I have several threads asking about how to put together the autograph books and passport books... So I thought I would post what I did....

what i did was save the pages i wanted and put them in Powerpoint... two pages per slide... I printed them out and then took them to Office Depot... I had them cut the pages in half on the line that i put on the page... they laminated the covers for me and did the binding... It cost me about $20 for 5 books....

I did one for Disney and Universal...

Here are my powerpoint files so you can download them...

Disney:

Universal:

Passport Book:

These are not my design... they are the designs of the wonderful DISigners on this board... I just put them all in one place Hope that was useful

Let me know if you have any questions... I am so happy that I can give a little bit back to this wonderful board :)

Wow - that must have taken a lot of time to insert all of the images into the autograph book file! I have a question: it doesn't look as if there is a margin on these sheets. How were they bound? Was a portion of the images lost to the binding process?

And a question about the passport configuration: did you have those sheets cut down the middle as well, or were they folded in half?

Would you mind sharing a picture? I would love to see the finished project!

It was some time, but not too bad... it took a lot of time to save them all down :)

As for the margins... there is a bit of a margin when you print them out on the printer... at least there was for mine... i used a Savin 3535 color copier to do them... So I did not loose too much (or nothing at all) in the binding process....

As for the passports, I did cut them down the middle... and then had them bound at the top... Office Depot actually did that for me... I had a little issue with the cutting of them... the lady was a little off when she did the cut, so I lost a little of my borders... It was still cheaper than getting the passports there and i don't think you can tell, so I am okay with it...

As for pictures, I will try to post pictures this weekend.. I just got all my stuff back from Office Depot today...

I also have activity books for Boys and Girls if you would like then as well... I stole them from here and put the files all into Powerpoint as well... Just let me know and I will post the links here as well...

I love  your autograph books. I am not familiar with power point and need to ask some questions. How would I change the name on the cover?
About how thick is your autograph book? Thanks

See you live in Marlton, I live in Shamong!

These are not my designs... so i can't take all the credit for them.. they came for a bunch of different designers... I just took them and put them into one big file... I thought that would be easier :)

The name on the cover can't be changed... I had one of the designers (Natalie) I think, do a cover for each book... After you get the cover from one of the designers, you can insert it as a picture. Then just drag the picture to the size you want just like you would in word or anyother program...

You could also just print out the cover in another program and just put it on top... I actually did two covers... one for the front and one for the back..

My autograph books are pretty thick for Disney... I had to use the coil binding not the comb one from Office Depot... A little more expensive, but i know the pages will not come out this way... i also did my pages only one sided for the books... so maybe if you do them double sided they would not be as thick... I just wanted the kids to have the option to put a picture of the character and them on the opposite side...

I will try to post pictures of the finished ones tonight so you can see how thick they are...

If you have any other questions, just let me know...

lifeafterkids, I love how you insterted your name into the front page..and I'm glad you liked my Universal pages enough to use them...you'll have to let me know what the characters think of them!!.

I have powerpoint but have never used it, I think I might give it a try though..see if it's as easy to use as paint shop pro.

Linda... thanks for the compliment... I love your pages... the only thing is, I don't think there is a page for Donkey from Shrek.. and I know they are together behind the Shrek movie attraction... I did not think about it until after I put my books together.. . I also did not leave any blank pages in that one like i did for the Disney one... so I think that may be something I need to add to the powerpoint file...

Also, there are those men on stilts outside of the Mummy ride and I think they sign autographs too...

I wish i would have thought about this before I bound my books  :scared:

Those are fabulous! I copied both the autograph and passport books and may use quite a bit of what you put together. Thanks for all your hard work. Now I need to do a search for passport books since I've never heard of them before. It appears you get a stamp from each country and my children's school does a grerat job with geography, so hopefully my kids will be into it.

I probably am not going to bind the books though as I will likely use the autographs in scrapbooking. Though my kids might each like a book of their own and then I could do one for myself for scrapbooking. Decisions, decisons!

Thanks again for posting this.

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how I was going to get everything in one place and you've done all the work for me! :woohoo: :woohoo:

One note about the passport book though... you might want to remove the page that has your "please return to" address on it. Or at least mask that out.

Who did the passport page with the picture of your son on it? Or did you do that one yourself? I'd like to do something similar.

Again, thanks so much for putting this all together. The designers defnitely did a wonderful job creating the pages :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2, and you went the extra step to consolidate. I'm going to take your advice and include a couple of blank pages in case we see someone that isn't represented.

Looking forward to seeing your photos of the finished product.
