Autograph Book ???

Thanks Penny. I have a million of those clips so that would definately work clipping them to the album. I learn so much here!

I like this idea! Do you remember where you found the small clipboard?

I got mine at Walmart in the office supply section. It is 9 x 6 which is perfect for the 4x6 cards or even 5x7. It is small enough so that it isn't bulky to tote around. They come in clear plastic , and a few bright colors. If you have a little extra time...you can add stickers and your child's name to personalize.

May I have a cover with "Abigail" on it, preference would bewith Arial, but any would work? Also a cover that say "Emma" any princess? Thanks

Sure, would you check out the covers posted in this thread
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=29078631#post29078631
or in my photo bucket account. I have princesses and the castle on this page (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd181/Chaos1Cent/Autograph Covers/) for Emma? Also, if you like this one

I can redo with Abigail's name. If not, I will do a new one this weekend. I will post it in my thread (see above)
Take care, Penny:hippie:

You & me both. I don't know how I made it through Disney before the Internet. LOL That seemed like a world ago. Looking for the best deals through the newspapers and travel agents. :rotfl2:

I am taking four of the five kids to Disney for their first and most likely only time ever!:cheer2: :cheer2: I am trying to make autograph books, and clearly I am doing something wrong.:confused3

I go to Photobucket where the amazing designs are, save a picture to my desktop and when I try to insert or paste it to Word, it loses quality, to the point of being barely legible.

Clearly I am missing something! Can anyone help? We leave in 6 weeks and I have four books to make!

Thanks!

Do you click on the card and open it in a new window? otherwise you are copying the thumb nail, not the picture. :goodvibes

I print mine on 4x6. You can buy index cards at Walmart that are all white and are already cut down to 4x6 (pretty inexpensive...around $1.26 I think), but I like to buy cardstock and cut it down to 4x6 because it is a lot thicker than the index cards. You can get 3 4x6 cards per 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock.

Also, in page setup...set the top margin to .25 and the rest of the margins to .2 (bottom, left and right margins).

Go to file then page setup in Word and set the paper to 4 by 6 inches. Then paste the pictures/autograph pages into the document. Go to format then picture and click on size. Change the height to 3.55 inches and the width will automatically adjust. This will leave a little bit of white around the picture. Also...make sure you center it on the page.

If you don't want any white around it...in page setup under the "paper" tab set the paper to borderless 4x6 photo then you can make the picture bigger and have no white around the border. I prefer a little white as it looks good and saves on ink...just a little...but when you are printing 236 cards like I did every little bit helped.

Hope this helps!

I take 8.5 x 11 cardstock paper and cut it down to get three 4x6 cards...there will be a little bit of paper left over. I cut the cardstock to make the 4x6 cards before I print on them. I like using cardstock instead of index cards that are already cut to 4x6 because they are a little bit sturdier. Like penny...she is the designer for some of my cards...I do not bind them together. I get a photo album that you can slide pictures in and out of the pockets so that you can get to the individual autograph cards easily when you see a character and they aren't having to struggle with a whole book...just one card. I also have a small clipboard to clip the page to and it gives the character something sturdy to write on and you don't have to worry about it blowing away during the transfer. Fortunately, I have a little one and a stroller so I don't have to carry my book all over WDW.

thanks for the tips I did not like the way mine turned out last time I printed some out. Will try again later this year using these tips.

If anyone is looking for the small clipboards I just got back from Target and they have the small clipboards in the dollar section. I will just cover them with Disney Paper and use some of the personalized things I have gotten from the wonderful DISigner. Hope that will help someone else.

Just thought I'd post a couple of images of the autograph book my boyfriend's mom made for me for our May trip last year:

If I decide to have my autograph cards bound into a book upon our return, do I need to leave a larger margin? I am thinking the spiral type binding at Staples or the like.

Thanks!
