Can I ask where you get yours from - prob more specifically the pens. I've read that the characters find it hard to grip normal biro type pens so you have to get thicker ones....

Any help appreciated :thumbsup2

PS - Should add, I know you can get the books at DLP but I've heard they are expensive and it's best just to take one with you... Esp as DD1 will only be 3.5 so isn't going to know too different really!

We just use a permanent marker that has a big barrel but quite a fine tip. Chracters do seem to find these easier than biros.

I bought our last chunky pen from DLRP - it only cost around 2 euros, and its worked a treat for 2 trips so far. I had a 99p one (you know, the ones with the chunky barrel and light-up character) from the Card Factory, but Chip n Dale dropped it during some of their antics with DD and it bust into a hundred pieces - so I wouldn't recommend them :rotfl: !

You can get A5 blank notebooks in Asda, Tesco etc, and decorate them with Disney stickers.

We do buy the autograph books from DLRP though - they are a lovely keepsake all by themselves. I only buy a new one when the old one is filled up!
The autograph books at DLRP cost around 4 euros.

You can buy them in most shops in DLP where they sell the autograph books. I always keep the pen and a spare with the autograph book in a small carrier bag in my bag. That means they are easy to find when needed and I am not searching in my bag for the pen.

Thanks Elaine - I'd like to get them before we leave as I'm not sure we'll have time to go shopping for them as soon as we get there really. Wouldn't want to miss out on any autographs :woohoo:

Can anyone else recommend any pens? With a 3 year old and 3 month old I find it a bit 'trying' to get around the shops to look so it would be great if I can just 'go and buy' :rotfl:

Thanks - somehow I've managed to post this twice - ooops!

I'd really like to get the stuff before we go out, as, as I said on the other post (!) I don't think we'll get much chance to get to a shop there to get them straightaway and I'd hate to miss out (I mean, I'd hate DD1) on any autographs :rotfl:

I find it hard getting round the shops with a 3 y o and a 3 month old so if anyone does know where I can get the pens specifically - any that will work! That would be great! If not, I'll get my lovely Mum onto the case for me :rolleyes1

As far as I remember we bought our chunky pens an autograph book in the Disney Shop at Disney Village before we entered the park for the 1st time.

They were also available at the 1st shop on the left hand side as you walk down Main Street past the band stand (sorry the name escapes me)

I know its not really what you're after, but they do sell the autograph books and chunky pens absolutely everywhere in DLRP - including in every gift shop in every hotel, plus the Village stores, and every shop in DLRP and the Studios themselves.

I'm debating on weather to get one for Kyra, do you think a 2 years and a 11 month old will understand the concept of autographs? I'm thinking of getting a Birthday card signed for her anyway so maybe i should leave autograph collecting till January.

Oh in that case if they are so easy to get I probably will just wait. Sainsbury's had some chunky pens in today but they were Mr Men ones :rotfl:

I thought maybe they'd be in just one store. If we can be bothered, DH and I might pop into the Village on our first night - we don't arrive until something like 18.40 at CDG and then have to collect our hire car and drive to the Marriott then get the girls settled etc.

Reid - thanks for merging the threads - sorry about that :rolleyes1

My DD will only be 3.5 but if she sees the other kids doing it she'll want to :rotfl: Plus it's a nice souvenir for when she's older! I'm massively into scrapbooking etc and will be making one of our trip so I'll keep them together until the DDs are older :)
