Do you think its worth it for my three year old son to have an autography book? Im just not sure he will really care. He loved characters we have been to sesame place and he just loves to hug EVERYONE:rotfl: so i know he will do that but im not sure he will care to get them to sign a piece of paper. Any advice?

but since she has an older brother who will be collecting them, I didn't want her to feel left out...plus, I think in a year or two it will be fun for her to look at them :thumbsup2

We took DD right before she turned 3. I made her a book that was pre-decorated. She was very much into getting the autographs. When we got home I printed a photo of her with each character and she tok it to "school" to show all her friends. She will be 5 next miont and still looks at her book quite often...even more frequently now that we have a trip planned for
Oct. I am planning on getting autographs for our other DD on that trip, even though she will only be 11 months old, so she can have the same kind of memento of her first trip to look at someday.

On our first trip dd was 4, she wanted to hug everyone as well. I took pictures of her hugging or standing with everyone and added them to the book with the signatures. She is now almost 10 and it is still one of her favorite scrapbooks. I think it would be worth it to get a book for your child.

I personally feel that it depends on the particular child's personality. We went to the World in mid-February. I bought autograph books (and matching pens) for my DD (age 9), my DS (then age 5) and my nephew (age 4) our first day at Magic Kingdom. While my DS went wild with getting autographs, my DD was very selective about who signed her autograph book. My nephew could've cared less about the autograph book. He's a bit shy and fearful by nature and my BIL almost had to bribe him into getting Pluto and Buzz Lightyear's autograph (well, Buzz's stamp). Nephew left his autograph book in his hotel room for the remainder of our stay.

We started with the autograph books when my oldest DD was only 2. That was her purpose with the characters, she would walk up get their autograph and immediately turn around smile for her picture and walk off. It was too cute she had her very own little agenda. Now my youngest DD is now 2 but she is more interest in hugging the characters until we have to pry her away. Although we have bought her an autograph book for her next trip since she now understands that her sister has something that she doesn't.

We also get the autograph books with the page with a picture sleeve next to the autograph page. This makes for a great keepsake when you return home and match the appropriate picture with the autograph.

My DD is 3 and I am trying to hold off on the autograph book thing for a little while longer. We just bought DVC, so we will be retuning to WDW quite frequently now so that may be a factor as well. I just don't want to stand in all of those lines waiting and waiting for a signature when she can't even read yet. Now, if the line is short then we'll stand and get a picture.

Only if you don't mind carrying it all the time, and then having to another one when that one gets lost because he's too young to be responsible for it....

Both DS#1 and DS#2 were way into the autograph book thing at 3. I didn't plan on it all with either at that age. I thought DS#1 was still too young to care. Wrong. I didn't think DS#2 would care because he was frightened of any character types at home--did not apply at Disney. He was going to have an autograph book, period. DS#3 will still be 2 for our next trip, but he'll be just shy of 3. I've decided that he'll have an autograph book just in case, and if he isn't interested, I'll save it for the next time. I buy autograph books at home (for a lot less money) so it won't be the same investment as if I buy a book there.

I don't allow my kids to just carry it in their hands. DS7 will have his own fanny pack this trip to hang onto his stuff (autograph book & pen, pins/lanyard when he's tired of wearing it, etc.). DS4 and DS2 have me hang onto their stuff. That's what a stroller is for!

When our daughter was 2 we took her and she had an autograph book. She is npw 4 and pulls the book out all the time and talks of how she met Minnie & Belle in Epcot. I say get them and see how it goes.

My DD had a autograph book last year she was 3 and she loved it, she now plays a game where I have to ask her to sign my book b.c she is a princess. It is a great way to get the character interaction started if they are shy, and it gives a little, and I stress a little extra time with the characters otherwise the photog can kind of rush you along a little more IMHO, but with the book Grace always gets to tell them something or they ask her a question, or talk about her outfit, etc. It just makes for a smooth interaction. If your children aren't shy at all and are all gun ho for characters you may not find the book necessary. We got the one where we put pics next to it and she loves to go through it with people and point out all the people she met.

That is the kind I want to get. I don't know that the autographs themselves will mean much to my DD's since neither can read yet. But DD#1 loves to look at pictures of anyone and everyone. She just got her school yearbook and page by page pointed at every single kid pictured and asked me their name. So I know she would at least like to look at the pictures. I will get one for DD#2 just because DD#1 has one - one less thing for them to fight over and maybe some day she will be into looking at photo albums too.

Can I ask where you found your album? Did you wait and buy it at the park?

You can find them inside the parks as well as Downtown Disney and at the resort stores as well.

They have a few different covers. Our favorite is the pirate one (it also came with stickers) I beleive they have a sorcerer Mickey with all the parks on it, a gold one with many of the characters on it as well as a pink princess one and a few other if my memory is right.

My older 2 had a great time with it last time. Now that we will have our little guy with us I'm sure he won't care too much but I'm going to get him one and use his signatures for the family scrapbook. ;)
