Now that I'm just about done with my t-shirt obsession. (I'd make more, but who would wear them?) I think I'll make autograph books and passports. Can someone lead me to the thread again that gives the detailed instructions on how to print out the passport pages that Pat made? I did a search but can't find it.
Also I'd appreciate any tips on what to make the covers out of and how to bind both the passports and the autograph books. I'm thinking just staples will hold the passport together, but what do you print the cover on? Or what do you do to make it thicker and protective. And how do you bind the autograph book?
Any advice, pictures, input of any kind is appreciated as I've not thought much about this yet and have certainly never tried to make one. Thanks a lot!

I hope this works. I just went over to her website and I can't access some of the images. As soon as I can get to them, I'll try it out myself. I am using textured scrapbooking paper (4.5 x 6.5) for the cover and back (you have to set your printer on heavy ink. I think I'll use cardstock for the pages. I also think I will take it to Staples and have them give me a spiral bind on the pages instead of stapling it. If anyone else finds a better way, let us know!

Passport Order – Canada to Mexico (Stack pages together with page 1 on top and page 7 on the bottom. Flip stack over and vertically staple a couple of times down the center of the page (this will put the rough staple openings in the middle of the booklet. Flip the stack back over. Fold stack in half at the staples, making USA1 touch USA2.

Here is a link to the passport pages.

the thing that works is to copy the pages in the right order into a Word document.
center them horizontal and vertical so they are exactly in the middle.
I did 2 pages on one page, with a few spaces in between....
first you print the even pages, and than you print the uneven pages on the back of the even ones. then staple them together...

Hope this made sense :goodvibes

Thank you! And thanks for the awesome designs! I think your passport is better than the one you can buy there! Any tips on what to print on, special instructions for the cover, or how to bind?

Thanks for liking the passport :):teeth:

For the passport pages I think using thicker paper will work, like the paper they print cards on. it will keep the ink from going through the page and it will hold up in one piece longer, I hope :rotfl2:
for the cover I am kind of clueless right now.
how to bind them, if you print the passport pages, and you print both sides of the paper, you can either use a needle and thread to sow them together, like they do with real passports, or you can staple them together. think it wont be to big of a stack to staple.
if you dont print the first page onto the back of the cover but on a seperate page and staple that to the rest of the pages, you can glue the cover onto that page so you cant see the staples on the outside or the thread.....
hmm, hope that makes any sense, lol!!
just get out your passport and see how they put that one together, it might give you some ideas ;) :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Great, thanks for the tips. I like the idea of sewing it together and glueing on the cover. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I just did a test print on the passport and it's perfect! It looks really good. Now I have to go buy some card stock and some contact paper. I think I'll put clear contact paper over the cover and then glue it to the front and back pages of the passport. I'll take some pictures when I'm finished.
