Where is the best place to get autograph books? I would prefer to go somewhere in Canada to buy them but if anyone has a reputable on-line place, that would be ok, too!

thanks

You can buy Disney notebooks at Dollarama to use, the Creative DISigns forum here at the Dis have wonderful people who have designed awesome autograph books ready for printing if you want to customize yours. I think the last time I bought an autograph book in WDW it was around $6.50 US

When I took my kids 2 years ago I purchased each of them small, clear plastic clipboards, had them personalize them with stickers etc, and attached 2 makers to each of the clips with a suitable length of string (each child picked 2 different colours therefore it was easier to distinguish whose was whose when we got home). I precut many sheets of 12x12 cardstock into 4 pieces and carried them in separate ziploc baggies. Each day I would load up the boards with cards and off we would go. Everytime we got an autograph they were placed in another ziploc to keep them all in order. Then when I got home I could match the autographs with the photos taken and I made both kids their own autograph scrapbooks.

I made my own for DD a few years ago. Not sure if you want to go to all that trouble.

I bought a small scrapbook at Michaels. It's about 7 inches wide by 4 tall. Then I went to a Disney clipart page and found one picture for each character DD liked or that I thought we'd see. I made labels with the names in Word and glued them all in the book, in alphabetical order. I used one whole open-book page (really 2 pages) for each character. I decorated the page, added the name and photo to the left side and left room there for the autograph and then left the right side for a picture of DD with the character.

My daughter loves the keepsake book with the autographs and her picture with the character. The characters really got a kick out of seeing their own personalized pages.

Just a thought if you want a little project for yourself!

This reminds me...I need to get on this project for DS for our next visit. He hasn't had an autograph book yet!

We always buy new ones each visit before we come home we go to the outlet Disney stores and usually pay about 2.50 for them or less sometimes.

I made them and they were a HUGE hit with my kids and the characters. I bought a 4x6 spiral bound photoalbum from dollarama then printed off autograph cards from the Creative DISigns thread--they are absolutely awesome cards and you should check them out, there are 100's available on the forum. Not sure if this is more work then you want, but they did turn out really well and are different than all the others. Good luck!

Thanks so much!

I really like the idea of making them....I have a hard time searching, is there a link to the Creative Thread so I can take a look?

thanks everyone

if you go to the bottom of the forum list(2nd last on page) then click creative designs. Search through a couple of pages if it is not on the top. You can also click on some of the designs signature that shows there shared sites and view. Be warned, it is addiciting... ;) there are so many cute things to make. A designer (Natalies) has also created the cute Epcot passports. Definetly check that out. She has amazing work.

Just got back from the Disney store in Square One and there were no autograph books but I did get 2 lanyards with 2 trading pins on each one for
$ 3.99 each.

Did you have to provide your own pens for the characters to be able to sign the books? If so, what works best considering their costumed hands? A regular pen or something larger like a marker? Thanks!

I've been told by quite a few people that the large sharpies with the fine point tips work the best.

I was at Vaughan Mills today and they are sold out. Figured I'd save someone else the trip.

What about adding blank paper to those Disney file folders that Dollarama has. Or Michaels has really nice Disney scrapbooks, I was there today and saw really nice 8x8 album. The best part is that they have their 40% off ciupons this week

I was all set to make my own books too, but I was never able to find the time or creative energy to do so. We bought our books at the parks. They are EVERYWHERE!!!! I got the larger sized books that have a side for photos and a side for the autograph. This helps my girls "read" the signatures. We arrived at the hotel with 45 min to spare before our first character dinner and we walked right into the gift shop and purchased them. They are sold at every store you walk into. So no worries about running around trying to find them. They also sell nice pens that fit into the little elastic ring attached to the book so it is easily accessible. I do wish I bought some darker marker pens though....oh well...the signatures still came out fine on the coloured paper in the autograph books.

Be sure to put your kids' name on the Sharpie marker - sometimes there can be confusion about whose it is.:confused3
