We are heading out on the train on Aug 9th:banana:
I have been reading some things on the lower level vs. the upper level.
We have two kids, 3 and 6, and just wanted some opinions.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting about the Autotrain...I never even thought of it as an option for us. It sounds fun.

Do you have a choice of upper or lower? I need to read more about this train.:cool1:

We have done the Auto train twice and both times requested the lower level. It is the same price as the upper level.

The lower level is basically a room with about 16-18 seats. Since it has only one door into it you will not have people walking the aisles to go to the bathroom or whatever during the night, like you do on the upper level. It is much more private on the lower because of that.

Both times we were on the Lower Level, we were there by ourselves.

Hey kmk160 we are leaving out on the Auto train on the 9 too!! This is our first time on the Auto Train and the kids are really excited we took the regular train back in 2007 and cant wait for this time !!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

We're going August 7! We request upper level, because the lower level is where the restrooms are, and we found the chemical smell triggered headaches for a couple of us (allergy type people). I also like the upper level because there is more of a sense of vista than being on the ground level. Some people like the lower level because they don't think it sways as much.
