Auto Train

Have any of you disboarders ever ride the Amtrak auto train. My family and I are riding it from Norton to Orlando.

We took the auto train in December and are doing it again in August. Cost wise, for 4 people it's about the same as air once you figure in the cost of a rental car. We like it because you don't have the usual airport hassles. Train noises might make it hard for light sleepers to snooze through the night, but we think the overall experience beats air travel.

Yes! We took it in 2002 down to Florida for a cruise. We canceled our trip on the way back.

The room said it "comfortably" slept three. My mom had to sleep on the chair.

They gave us ONE pillow. We had to go search for some

It was extremely bumpy. This was out of the ordinary apparently though.

The toilet was in where the shower was and the shower went off every 15 minutes, getting everything all wet. You really had to sit down on the toilet to shower.

So, for the price of it we just drove home from Florida.
